Whipped this ol' thing together. Colors are Krylon Jade and Testors #1135 purple. The purple matches the box insert photo exactly, but I'm not fond of it. I think gray would have been the way to go. But it was worth a try.
Hobby Talk has a few pics from the Star Trek Poster Books of the model: http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showpost.php?p=1995879&postcount=14
Hmmm... I gotta say, Forbin, I usually love to sing your praises, and the assembly, overall paint work, and the decal application are certainly up to your usual standards of excellence.... but I gotta say, something about the weathering isn't working for me... I'm not sure I can put my finger on what's bothering me about it, but something sure is. Other than that, it's a damn fine build up of one of MJ's masterpieces! I always thought this design shared the same strengths as Enterprise has: it's a very unique bit of sculpture which is both instantly identifiable and photographs well from any angle. --Alex
I admit I get a little heavy-handed with the weathering. Kaiser, I did a Romulan one a few years ago, with marking I designed myself: http://www.inpayne.com/models/romulan_battlecruiser.html
I think it looks excellent. And if you hadn't said one of the two colors was purple, I would have sworn it was gray.
