Seems Being Human series 4 is starting in the next couple of weeks on BBC Three with some big cast changes ahead, but the airdate for the US has been announced already.

To be fair, I thought the series would be a disaster with the changes from the pilot to the series, but it worked out well. Willing to give it a chance.

awesome cant wait to start watching both this and the US version again.

For this one arent they really only finding another character type for Mitchell?

George is leaving, I think Nina might be too as she's not in the cast photo for the series.

    Oh what the...? That sucks.

Well maybe the actor who plays George will reprise his role from Doctor Who and end up on Torchwood next season.

Russell Tovey said something along the lines of it didn't feel right without Aidan there. And he seems to be busy with other projects, Him & Her has been picked up, he's been in a few other things, I believe he's in a play and an upcoming film too.

I was okay with the departure at the end of series 3, but after reading about the changes for this series...

    Fuck.

Being Human had me so jazzed for more with that finale, and now...

    Fuck.

I think I may just accept that the show ended with series 3. It was a good place to stop.

And the U.S./Canadian version does not exist. :p

I have mixed feelings about the series. The vampirism=drug addiction thing was so fundamental to the series, killing off Aidan the way they did was saying drug addiction is incurable. This is a really backward, nasty outcome.

That's the problem with trying to do something "serious" with fantasy, the metaphors collapse under the weight of the nonsense.

Drug addiction is incurable. You could go without for the rest of your life but you would still be an addict. Perhaps you meant manageable?

Technically, if you could cure your addiction to drugs, because they're awesome, that means that you could go back to taking drugs recreationally and just have a laugh with your mates without it destroying your life because of addiction. Yes, drugs are awesome. Anyone is a fool to say otherwise. Mistaking yourself for god is a pleasant experience.

It's just the fallout and the consequences that are shitty.

Looks like it's on BBC Three between the 4th and 10th of Feb, I'm assuming the Sunday 5th.

Series 4 is 8 episodes, like series 2 and 3.

Recalling back to what was said when Aidan went off to NZ, the door was left open for him to make some guest appearances. Remember that vamps being dead isn't necessarily the end of them in Being Human. If the cast changes are as hinted in your spoiler quotes it isn't really the same show. That doesn't mean it will be rubbish but the fellowship has been broken.

Not until there's been a lot of trudging over rocky terrain and gazing at each other in extreme close-up.
