Oh, the wife and I really enjoyed My Living Doll (hoping for another DVD set!). But yes, women's lib was on the other end of the galaxy from that show.
Oh, indeed. She had amazing legs. And that bathtub episode.... There's another one I never thought of. I'll have to go with Morticia, too.
Okay, Battle Angel Alita (Gally in the original Japanese) or Major Motoko Kusanagi? What? Why is everyone staring at me? Sincerely, Bill
Kusanagi's an ice queen, which of course makes it all the more intriguing. On the other hand she's essentially a super-strong blow-up doll with a soul. Hmmm...
Oh, I should state I'm thinking of Gally/Alita as she was depicted in the orignal run of the manga, before Kishiro started writing "Last Order". In the more recent series of books, he reveals a plot twist that fundimentally changes the nature of the title character. As presented in the older books, there's a more "one to one" correlation between her and the Major. Like Motoko, she too is a meat brain housed within a robotic chassis. Sincerely, Bill
Ginger. Mary Ann reminds me too much of my sister, and that would be just ... wrong ... on far too many levels.
Mary Ann Samantha Bailey Wilma > Betty Monica > Rachel = Phoebe Downtown Julie Brown > Julie Brown (Who remembers them? But I really loved "Just Say Julie") Mary Jane Watson > Gwen Stacey Wonder Woman > Super Girl Sam > Dean (I'm gay, okay?)
Mary Jane for me. Also, Betty (Even if she tends to be a bit nuts.) Veronica is wayyyyyyy too high-maintenance; hell say what you will about Ginger but at least she fairly quickly adapted and coped with life on the island. Veronica? I doubt she'd fair as well. Of the "Friends" women? Rachel but only after the second or third season when her own status of being a high-maintenance rich girl toned down and she became more of a career woman who could make her own way. Phoebe was way too kooky and Monica way too OCD. Betty over Wilma but that's a tough one since other than hair color they both look basically the same. Betty seemed to have the better personality of the two, though and more adaptable to things. Yeoman Rand or Nurse Chapel?
I'll take Uhura, the other two would probably never sing just for me. Though of course, there's this: http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=35336
Uhura over all Trek women. She was a major crush for me back in the 60s. In a similar vein: Supergirl > Wonder Woman Crystal > everybody
