Out of the female characters in the film versions of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, how do they rate in terms of attractiveness/sexiness? In LotR we have Arwen, Galadriel and Eowyn, and now, in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, we have Tauriel.
I was madly in love with Eowyn, in Two Towers. Absolutely adored her. Surely, Aragorn would've been attracted by her honest beauty, her strength and her fierce conviction. A brilliant bit of casting there. I think she was wonderful in it.
One thing I really loved about Miranda Otto's performance is that some of her best scenes, scenes where you are convinced that she is indeed a well-regarded shield-maiden, are the scenes where she says little, if anything at all. When she steps out of the golden hall and stands on that balcony of sorts, with the wind blowing her hair, she has tremendous authority and pretense, but also vulnerability.
@Gov Kodos: "Maybe Faramir isn't so bad after all.." Eowyn's plenty cute, and no doubt the most appealing hypothetical partner, what with being human and not having that Elvish aloofness, but while I look forward to seeing this Tauriel, I gotta vote Arwen on looks alone so far. To live with, though? All that ethereal manner would probably get old pretty quick. And just imagine what the lovemaking must be like - slow, gentle, slow, dignified, and slooooooowwww, every single time - which probably ain't that often to begin with (only when the moons and stars are properly aligned, no doubt, and only with several hours' worth of prep!). So, looks: Arwen, dating: Eowyn. Marry: Hermione.
I expected some criticism against having too few female characters in the LotR/Hobbit story, but I got another objectification thread. Oh boy.
Eowyn & Galadriel are both so hot. Liv & Cate have ethereal features that translated so well into being elves. I mean, all they really had to do was add pointy ears.
