We saw part of it during the TAS episode The Practical Joker, if that counts?

Yes (row 3, cols 2 & 3), when the computer turns the gravity off. That's pretty nondescript though, and, anyway, I don't consider the automatic bridge defense system to be a recommended fixture.

Excellent! Thank you. I didn't remember a bridge scene when they were all gravity-less. And it's nice to get an upskirt on M'Ress.

Hmm, that seems the kind of thing I would have noted. I must be slipping. ;)

Speaking of that episode, this oughta be the easiest thing in the world to make a model of!

Taken literally, that proto-holodeck would be HUGE. Similar size to TMP's Recreation Deck, perhaps?

It looks like the Filmation team accidentally painted the cells so that Lieutenant Uhura has Nurse Chapel coloration: blue uniform and blond hair.

I've been thinking about that. Could be the holodeck was already 'on' and in a standby screensaver mode (said mode being an infinitely large white space); otherwise you'd expect to see some kind of emitters or projectors on the walls. If that's the case, then the proto-holodeck's no bigger than the ship's gymnasium. (Nor would it need to be, at this early stage with a ship that size.)

Now I'm thinking of the "Imaging Chamber" from Quantum Leap. That would work quite well, I think!

Just returned from the Las Vegas Star Trek convention. Here's a little souvenir I picked up...

Had a WONDERFUL time. Gonna go every year from here on out!

While out there, I was bit by the movie-era bug. Anyone mind if I take a detour from TOS and work on the Refit Enterprise bridge for a while?

Great photo and glad you had a great time!! Glad to see that it looks like Shatner has lost a little weight too.

You lucky rascal! I'm assuming you showed Shatner your rendering work - what'd he think?

Oh, I'll never say no to going back to that beautiful ship. :luvlove:

Count one more supporter for going back to the refit enterprise bridge. And let me just throw in my vote for the TVH style bridge - that little gem had too little screentime. Thought whatever version you decide to do, I am sure it will be awesome!

Movie era is all that and a bag of chips! TMP/TWOK or (seriously) TFF - well, just the bridge on that last one.

Nice pic. Third season uni? :)
