I studied political science and philosophy as an undergraduate, and now I'm in law school. I'm torn between intellectual property law and constitutional law, but my true love is bioethics. I'm not much of a tech person myself, since I lack the patience for it, but I love hearing about new cool gadgets. Oh, and I'm totally fascinated by outer space.

Wow! Even Spock would be impressed with the diversity posted here. I have more usless information stored away in my brain than I could ever possibly use (somebody want some? Let's mind meld...) I have two college degrees... have had a career as a soldier, and journalist, a radio and television personality and producer... I now work as a golf course superintendent and know more about plant diseases than I ever thought I would. I have a IQ of 163... and 18 grandchildren... I have more fun with the grandchildren.

Hello. First of all, I am a communist, a marxist-leninist. Don't be put off. I am not a dogmatist -- I am fairly open-minded. I will intently consider most things. I have no secondary education, as of yet, but I consider myself a scientist and so I will not consider metaphysics. I love star trek, but i do not like the liberal philosophy it preaches, as this is just another form of metaphysics. I love sci-fi in general, but I have high tastes. Same goes for music, books, video games, and the like. I am currently finishing my highschool in college. I never dropped out, I just spent more time learning than doing schoolwork. I am an artist of sorts. I do not practice much, but have a natural talent for it. If there is no purpose, I will not do it. I have always loved to read and write, but it is only recently that I've gotten over my aversion to fiction writing. I have even made attempts at writing my own fiction. I suppose I am a transhumanist as well. I think aging and death can and should be eliminated. As well, the human race should be improved and other species should be uplifted. Genetic engineering and cybernetic modification are acceptable. So is eugenics, but this technique is rapidly approaching obsolescence. I also think it would be nice if we could eliminate secondary sex characteristics to create an all-feminine society. I believe in democracy, not liberal democracy, but socialist democracy, yet I have a soft spot for authoritarianism. I would like to see a political-economic system which combines the two systems for maximum benefit. Specifically, I would like to see a democracy which minimizes consumption, while maintaining the standard of living, in order to maximize production, economic growth, and technological progress. I have some ideas, but I am not ready to share them. Lastly, I have an IQ of only 130. This is because of a number of disorders and learning disabilities. ODD, ADD, Aspergers, etc. And most importantly, my processing speed and working memory are near retarded -- everything else is much higher.

    So. There you have it.

Hi! I' Re1Mu2R3 (I know. Stupid name huh? Well it has a story behind which I probably tell you guys one if these days when I've hang around here long enough to get me comfortable. :)) from the Philippines and I'm a Trekker-Enthusiast.

I only got into Sci-Fi back in 07. I started with the movies then I borrowed and finished VOY from a friend and I have all dvds of TOS but haven't seen them yet. I'm currently seeing the Reimagined BSG and I'm downloading Andromeda Season 3-5. I've seen Seasons 1 and 2. I download because piracy isn't as strict in my country as it is in yours :p. and the value of our currency is really low so ebay or Amazon is no option for me :(.

I'm currently in my 4th year of College taking BS Mining Engineering but I'm not Academically excellent. Just good enough to pass.

Besides Sci-Fi, I also love Table Tennis, Eating Pesto and Salad, Reading (Mostly Psychology books and stuff by Terry Pratchett), Mega Man (Both the games and the series'), Manga (I'm not into comic books like DC and Marvel because they're really expensive in my Country. Perhaps if you could suggest a site that has scans, I could start. ;)), and Console gaming (I love Survival Horror games, Tenchu Series, all Mega Man games, Squaresoft games (Not Square-Enix), and most SNES RPGs). I've never touched a PS3, XBOX 360 or a Wii since, you guessed it, I can't afford them.. :(

So that's me! ...Oh I almost forgot! I have a fetish for tall attractive, well-built women with glasses...

Wow! Thirteen pages! I just got through them. I am new here and do not yet rate the perks. Watched TOS on TV 1966-68. Now have the set and do not reallly watch TV now. Got a BA in Psychology and a BA in Political Science. Have been diagnosed with schizophrenia for over 25 years. Read over 100 ST novels. Got sets of SG-1 and B5 too. Interested in Political science fiction. Did some remarks on the ST Literature about "Astronauts and Mental Health." Work as a Peer Support Worker. PSWs support others in achieving their recovery goals. Have studied rather broadly and actually did pass a calculus course and statistics as well as biology. May actually read "Technology Review" more often as suggested by one of my Political Science profs. Writing might be interesting to do sometime...

I have no degree. I am waiting a year to go to tech college for a degree in Automotive technology, though my dad says that its a waist of my brain. There I also want to look into a degree in electronics and or welding. I am atheist, but never impose myself on others unless they start it. I believe it would only take one person to change the world, as long as they have the imagination and determination to do it. I am a Sea Shepherd fan and absolutely believe that whaling should be banned world wide. I have nothing against Japan but I believe that they should be banned from Antarctica, any whale sanctuary, and a navy should stop them from senseless dolphin killing in their waters. I would Join Sea Shepherds if I could. I even have a ship design and want to build it for Sea Shepherd one day, you could call it a tank in water. They have to wait like 5 years to get it(I am only 18, still living at home sorry) I have an over-active imagination like no-one would believe. I got interested in star trek at a young age, which sparked my interest in a scientific fields and also spiked my imagination. I like rock music, but not the screaming stuff. I listen to 3 days grace, Breaking Benjamin, Saliva, etc. I like country rock. I want to learn to play the piano, guitar, fiddle/violin. I want to learn multiple languages. Most favorite would be Latin, Russian, and French.
This is a thread for me I could have a page just about me if I didn't hold back and stop typing. thanks.

Let's see I have a BA in history, an MA in politics, and now back in school pursuing statistics.
I used to be pretty good with chemistry and physics, and my interests go from astronomy to zoology.

I started out in undergrad as an aerospace engineering major, but I bored of it after a year of basic aerodynamics and became convinced I would be more interested by the pure sciences, so I changed to Applied Math, which I got my BS in. I minored in physics and philosophy and had I had the money, probably would've just chosen to triple major because I loved them all equally. About 2 years before graduation I signed up with the Marine Corps officer candidate program and did that shtick for awhile. I was going to be a naval aviation candidate after graduation but it turned out I was color blind and so DQ'd from flight.

I worked in IP surveillance for a little while in networking support and SQL development and then decided it was time for school again (particularly when the hot married customer service chick's husband found out...) and so here I am, back in school - MS in Aerospace Engineering. I'll be done in December unless I find funding, then I may stick around for PhD.

Oh right, I should probably talk about what I study. As far as math goes, I'm most interested in analytical topics like ODE, complex functions, but I'm fascinated by differential geometry & topology. I had one class as an undergrad and it blew my mind. As far as actual work, I'm in propulsion... trying to find funding in my research (supersonic rocket nozzles, sp. flow separation) and boundary layer behavior... interested in hypersonic flow but they don't teach it here it's only covered in seminar so... yep that's about it. As far as RIGHT now, I'm taking rocket propulsion and electrical propulsion. Electrical is basically 20% E&M, Statistical Mechanics and QM and 20% orbital/basic flight.

think you all mostly know me by now lol

i studied physics and quantum mechanics at uni, passed that fine... went into IT from there and technical support / web design, then progressed into the adult industry from there...

i currently build websites, film and work with fetish porn on a daily basis... have dominatrixes as friends, and generally just have a blast :)

Wow, that's quite a CV, Methos
I'm a botanist but as there's little demand I work as a labtech for biology instead and occasionally help out as a forensic biologist as well. (The latter is much more boring than certain TV shows would like to make you believe. And smellier!) My secret passion is botanical physics, though. I'm especially interested in herbal communication (via biophotons - cool way to talk!)
Apart from that I'm a hobby astronomer and spend the clear winter nights with my telescope, a gallon of piping hot tea and a thick duvet on the terrace.
And when I am bored I do a few integrations or solve equations with 3-4 variables, to keep my brain from getting rusty (which propably makes me more of a pervert than a love for fetish porn LOL)

Well.. I have a bachelors degree in Biology, currently (with much delay) working on my masters in Medical Biology. Interests include some psychology, lots of astronomy, including some courses in astronomy at uni. Unfortunately, I basically suck at math and physics. Otherwise, yes.. I might have studied astronomy. Fascinating.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself to the community.

I'm from Toronto, Canada, and I'm in my 2nd year of university. I'm a relatively new 'Trekkie'. About a year ago I gained interest in Star Trek when I saw an episode of the The Original Series. From then on there I was hooked. I watched the first season of TOS and then moved onto the The Next Generation. I still have to tackle more seasons of TNG and then I'm going to move back to TOS, and then DS9.

Anyways, just wanted to share a little about me. See everyone around the forums. :)

I'm a science writer in Berlin, Germany. My main interest is astronomy but ancient history and a bit of medicine are also there. I started with TNG but currently consider TOS to be the most pure and highest form of Trek.

MoS in biology with a solid knowledge - but no degrees - in pharmacology and medicine.
Originally, I'm a geneticist and botanist (& certified landscape gardener - did that to earn the money to afford University) but have been working as a limnologist at the Ministery For Man And The Environment for almost 25 years now and I've grown pretty good at it (as people usually do when they have a job they like) :)
Since experts for aquatic scavengers are a somewhat rare species, I occasionally work as forensic entomologist.

In private I'm rather an Epicurean: I enjoy life in all its beautiful manifestations, such as butterflies, flowers, interesting discussions, chocolate, handsome men etc. :D. If you ever find me without a book I'll very likely be dead.

I've always had a strong interest in physics and astronomy and spend most clear nights on my dad's telescope (favourite objects: Sol, Luna, Jupiter).
As the daughter of an IT pioneer I rather automatically accumulated some computer knowledge which comes handy for my 2nd hobby: I'm techAdmin on 3 phpBB-boards.

I'm a pacifist to the core. Life is too wonderful to throw it away for no other reason than being comanded to do so by politicians who are too stupid to solve their problems by talking them out!
Just that I don't like to fight doesn't mean that I can't: Hobby #3: sword fencing, archery & riding.

Atm I am training for a fundraiser marathon for the local children's hospital in September 2014. So far I've never run more than 1/4 marathon and in the aftermath of a leg fracture I'll have to undergo a surgery in January or February and then shall have to start my training at zero again. Training tips from seasoned runners amongst you would be highly welcome!!

(warning: I have a rather dark sense of humour and often make fun of myself as well. Don't be offended and in doubt please PM me if you're not sure whether I am serious or not. I try to mark humour by smilies but occasionally forget to do so)

Well, allow me to introduce myself.

I am the vowels in every poem you read, no matter what language you read it in.

Which means that i can't be in Hebrew because Hebrew has no vowels and all vowels are inferred.

But I am a very long time fan of star Trek. What drew me here was the the information to keep up on stuff about Trek.

I've enjoyed all Star Trek and wish to see more.

My favorite though will always be Star Trek II. Mr. Shatner and Mr. Nimoy are personal heroes of mine.

And Abrams Into Darkness, while it is not a bad movie, just could not capture the powerful story of friendship that was in ST II.
