Starts tonight! This was definitely my favorite new show from last year and I've been looking forward to this new episode since the last minutes of the season 1 finale. I'm eager to see the interactions of the fully formed team and how Fusco and Carter react to the knowledge of The Machine. Will The Machine have an expanded roll? or will it just keep doling out numbers to the team? Tonights episode: "The Contingency"
I'm looking forward to this, too. I like the idea of the machine being "alive," and how the characters will react to it. I'm also curious about the whereabouts of Finch--he's by far my favorite character.
I think we'll learn a lot about the Machine and Finch this season. Last season they delved into Reese's backstory more so I think it's Finch's turn this season.
In the last few years, i have been hesitant on trying out any new shows, considering how the major networks kill things after a season. I found the concept of this show interesting, but never tuned in. Since i'm looking forward to Elementary, i'm gonna finally give this show a shot at 9pm.
That was AWESOME. I loved the game play with the machine (although I don't believe a casino wouldn't notice you looking at your phone!) and I loved that the machine wanted to protect him. I got a kick out of the "USER ERROR" report and the "STAY" business. I hope Finch and John aren't apart all that long; they work better as a team. And John now has a dog, who understands Austrian commands.
I'm guessing that Reese and Carter will rescue Finch next episode and Root gets away. Amy Acker's almost too goergeous to be crazy batshit insane evil. She's good at being bad here just as she was in the 5th season of Alias.
That was excellent. A superb follow on to last seasons finale. I like how it started just about right where the previous episode ended. I wonder if the new teammate, who listens to Dutch commands, will stick around? Just like a dog to rip up a bunch of stuff when left alone! I thought we were going to see how Finch got his limp, until I realized it was way too early in the timeline for that. Fusco is one of my favorite characters, he's such a tragedy waiting to happen, so I was happy when Reese acknowledged him as a friend. I was hoping John would be nicer to him this season after all he had to go through last year. Root may not have to be successful in her aim to unshackle The Machine. I think Reese is unwittingly helping it break its own bonds with his 'Do the math,' line. Could this be a prequel to Colossus: The Forbin Project?
I loved the "sounds like a gag order" line I thought they might have kept Ken Leung around for a few episodes to help John out with computer stuff.
I hope they flesh out Root a little more. She seems like she's just some unbalanced psycho right now. The history and connection between Finch and the machine was great! Reese "negotiating" on the street corner...bizarre and awesome at the same time.
^ That WAS pretty good. I like Reese standing there, threatening the street camera, and the poor accountant standing there, thinking he's been rescued by a nut job.........until the phone rings.
The finale from season one and this latest episode are really the best stuff the show has ever done. I just hope CBS lets the show veer away from the standard save-a-person-each-week procedural and into the more serialized and interesting direction it is going at the moment. Also I love Reese still getting his badass moments in each episode. The quick shoot out in the bar, and the speech about Tikrit/training dogs and then the cut to the body flying out the window was great.
This is definitely the best new show from last season. My wife and I both love it. They were actually filming scenes on my street corner last Thursday and Friday but my we figured it out too late to see anything.
I haven't watched it yet, so I'm not reading anything until I do. I really liked it last season, though. I hope they can build on that.
Looks like they are building. I look forward to tomorrow's episode. EDIT: And as a side note, I think this series needs to come out with a soundtrack. I've been looking for that Ramin D. song called the Machine Theme, and I can't find it anywhere.
Tonight the episode is Bad Code. Will Reese be reunited with his friend Finch? It may not be in this episode but I hope they address what the current custodians of The Machine are doing with it. Do they know the full potential of what they possess? I know some of it was revealed in the second last episode, where they framed that guy for asking too many questions, but I'd like to see it expanded upon. What are the six people (or five, now that Alicia was shot in the head by Root) actively doing with it?
