Was Majel ever in ST XI? (spoilers)

And I think she's in the scene on the planet and the Jellyfish also. The Kelvin one is the only one that to me sounds nothing like her at all.

 

It would be nice to get a final answer from JJ or someone about this, since clearly Majel herself can't tell us now

 

Of note. On Majel Barrett-Roddenberry's page on Memory-Alpha, her Star Trek credit is listed as "Enterprise computer voice".

 

Yeah... though her (much more compelling) movie credit lists her as 'Starfleet Computer Voice'.

 

Then wouldn't logic dictate that if she was also the computer voice of the Jellyfish and since we never heard any other voice (outside of the other Starfleet ship that we know isn't her) she would just be listed as "Computer Voice"?

 

All the computer voices we heard were Starfleet computers. Starfleet helped build the Jellyfish.

 

And we know she wasn't the voice of the Kelvin, so she didn't even voice all the Starfleet comps.

 

Yes, the Kelvin was someone else. But the rest is her.

I don't know. It's just that the Enterprise, Pod and Jellyfish sound like her to me.

Majel was the computer voice in a couple of scenes, most notably when Kirk is trying to rescue Scotty from the water tubes and turbines in engineering.

 

The Jellyfish was a Vulcan-built ship.

 

True. Maybe some Starfleet technology was involved in putting it together, but it was an all-Vulcan spacecraft.

I think this is a situation where we'll need some independent confirmation.

 

Not to mention, we have an actual NASA sound engineer in this very thread telling us that it is indeed her only on the Enterprise.

 

I agree. When I close my eyes and listen to your clips, I hear Majel's voice only when responding to Chekhov. It was nice to hear her voice again.

 

Maybe they can get a close Majel soundalike to voice the Enterprise and Starfleet computers in the next movie or two.
