Bluebird, ok then. I notice no logo for the character immediately.

I just read Superman/Wonder Woman #5, and I think that is the best Tony Daniel art I have ever seen! I usually don't think much of him, he was particularly bad on Batman RIP, but this was absolutely gorgeous work! Too bad the story was a thinly veiled remake of the movie.

Finished reading Justice League 3000 #3 and this was so far the best issue of the series so far writing and story wise. The dynamic between the big three kind of grows on you, you feel for Batman and Wonder Woman as they have to endure this dolt of a Superman. Meanwhile we make a couple of discoveries, more "Wonder Twin" stuff and an introduction to Ariel Masters who appears to be behind this project. This has managed to keep me around. Also the Howard Porter art continues to be the star of this book. He seems to be channeling Frank Quietly or Chris Burnham because this is a very unique style that we're getting for him.

Agreed about the Tony Daniel art on Superman/Wonder Woman...he's been doing some beautiful work. Interesting story build up by Soule as well. We're progressing towards something big here. There's been a lot of set up though to get there.

Also really loving "Action Comics". Greg Pak has been doing awesome work on this, I really hope that he gets a long run on this book. I absolutely adore 52'Verse Lana Lang. I love this version of her, she's getting some character develop here that I felt she wasn't in previous versions, aside of course from "Smallville". Pak is building a very strong character and you can tell there is a genuine connection and bond between Clark and Lana. I also love the Aaron Kuder art. Wherever they found this guy from they get kudos because he's been terrific.

Forever Evil #5 was excellent again. The Lex character work from Johns is interesting, and I guess there is set up for him when he joins the Justice League concluding this, and finally the entity responsible for wiping out the Crime Syndicate's Earth/universe has finally arrived. Things are escalating towards the finish. The last two issues should be pretty packed with plot and action.

The Movement has been cancelled. There goes one of the last good DC books.

It was only good if someone needed a sleep aid otherwise it was part of the three quarters dreck churned out by Nu52.:)

What is the draw for Wildstorm?

In the beginning it was about the porn art from the super star artists, which got old fast, especially when they all stopped drawing because they had so much money and running a business is difficult.

    Ellis and Moore though.

    WildC.A.T.S and Stormwatch.

    Quite the golden age.

I'm guessing this will be the last hurrah for Wildstorm...although I guess fans thought that with the end of Stormwatch?

The May Solicits also should be online by the end of the day. I'm just excited to see Terry.

Last hurrah for this cycle of DC's Crisis/Death&Rebirth events perhaps. Since Wildstorm are now as owned by DC as the once Charleston Comics characters and no one suggested that Captain Atom's quick cancellation would be the last we saw of him(but it kinda has been this go around).

At this point I am expecting the whole new 52 universe to regress to pre-Flashpoint by summer 2015.

Not likely. A lot of the top writers and artists at DC kinda made their names with Nu52. Reversion by now is a fantasy.

The first crisis was about integration.

The Captain Marvel Family was from Earth 5 FFS.

And the JSA, All Star Squadron and Infinity Inc were from Earth-2. These elements were already integrated as part of the DC Multiverse. The original CoiE was about creating a blank slate since continuity was viewed at the time as a dead weight and it was assumed that a newer and younger readership would emerge after CoiE. On the other hand Nu52 was about more using the reboot to create a sales boost from the same old group of fans with no underlying assumption that there would be any "new fans".

Yeah and one of the first mini events after that was War of the Gods. I still think that Perez cover is a great piece of art. What stood out to me was that Captain Marvel was standing in the place of Batman as the center 3 figures. I wonder if that story still holds up as a contained read?

The art was so bad, I couldn't take it seriously in the 90s.

If it was a good story, they would have hired a good artist.

That and saying that the Greek Gods and the Romans Gods, even the Greek and Roman Gods with the same names were all different people and in a sharks vs. jets feud.

But the covers to the Wonder Woman crossovers.

    Wow.

    Oh.

It's a Millennium crossover I was thinking of, which is part of something called "Challenge of the Gods".

    Oh.

War of the Gods didn't Cross Over with Wonder Woman till the late 50s.

(I collected all this stuff third, and fourth hand, years to decades after first publication, so sometimes I can be a little off about when exactly things happened.)

So what do you suppose is going on with "Superman: Doomed"? We know this is going to be Scott Lodbell's "grand finale" and that it will feature 52'Verse Doomsday proper. Are we going to see Death of Superman and different from the way Morrison told it?

Also it seems Superman is changing during this arc. Perhaps this will explain why he's absent from the Justice League.

Hopefully everything Lobdell does is retconned immediately by Johns once he arrives on the scene.

Maybe he is going to run Argus or head their superhuman team. Johns's protege, Sterling Gates wrote most of Vibe, is currently writing Forever Evil ARGUS and will be writing the last issue of Stormwatch. So I could see them exploring that direction. Whatever they do, both the Superman and Action Comics book will actually be good for once.

Johns and John Jr's brief interviews about their run have stated they are planning on exploring "the unknown" and that we will be seeing things about Superman we've never known before, and one in particular will redefine him. So perhaps Lobdell, Pak, and Soule are going to set up "Superman". It sounds like he won't be quite the same when we see him after Doomed and Forever Evil.
