Well, that is Zoe (though the pic is obviously photoshopped).

I think this thread should be renamed Zothura. It seems less awkward.

Makes sense. Star Trek XI is about changing things. I'm surprised (Pleasantly) that she's still a she and not a he.

I wonder will they give her an accent?

Right here. But where are you?
Interesting question. I'd assume not, but I did notice that in a recent video clip, that she did pronounce the name "Uhura" with a decided accent -- pure vowels and slightly trilled "r," very similar to a Spanish accent.

I noticed it too! Is Uhura going to be speaking with an accent in the movie? That's gonna throw me for a loop!!

Hmmmmmmm, if Spock had an accent what would it sound like?

Maybe like the Vulcan High Priestess in "Search for Spock"?
    Or T'Pau?

However, I seriously doubt they would mess with Spock's accent.

Why couldn't they mess with Spock's character?

Which means Star Trek XI is not a Reboot tm.

New Star Trek XI tagline: "When Women Could Wear Pants." :D

    Didn't say they couldn't.
I just don't think they will--speaking of the accent, that is.

Can't you tell that was a rhetorical question?!?

    I'm kidding

Seriously though- as serious as this thread can get. I don’t really care if she has an accent or not. As long as she can act, and doesn’t wear pants, she’ll fill Uhura’s boots quite nicely.

I think she should try to act like Uhura (Nichols)- not that she had any real roles in Star Trek until the movies. Keep her strong characteristics, and loose the 1960’s timid woman thing. That’s not needed, nor relevant today. But she is a sexy woman, and I’ve seen lots of really hot pics of her on the net. They should definately keep that sex appeal she offers... Nichols was hot then too. So hot. Both of them.

So, make her the security chief!

Like the one Nimoy used in TOS. Seriously, am I the only one who thinks Spock does have an accent? I could swear Nimoy spoke differently playing Spock than his normal speaking voice in interviews. Or maybe he just speaks differently now.

Well, he did speak differently in the first couple of episodes. His voice had more urgency and volume to it. As for an accent- I suppose it depends where you come from that influences your take on an accent.
