Andrea, Dale, and I think Carol were in The Mist. If you want actor names, Laurie Holden, Jeff DeMunn and Melissa McBride.
I saw that on Sci-Fi (or a part of it) last night...and it was made by Frank Darabount, so no wonder they got picked up for Walking dead. Had Frank stayed on, i wonder if we would have seen more cast members?
Marcia Gay Harden as some crazed religious fanatic ascending to power would actually work in TWD universe.
I didn't know Darabount produced The Mist. That was probably the best adaptation of a Stephen King story (except for the ending), which is nice, because it's my favorite Stephen King story. Interestingly, the DVD of The Mist includes both a color and b&w version, and the DVD of Walking Dead season one includes both a color and b&w version of the pilot.
^He wrote and directed it, not just produced. So, yeah, it's Darabont-y as all hell. Great film, too.
Yeah i had seen the movie before but it was on Syfy again last night then i noticed those 3, no wonder Dale is protective of Andrea in TWD! LOL Also the army guy in the Mist that got stabbed was the zombie in the tank with Rick in TWD.
That was Sam Witwer, who was cast as that zombie specifically so he could reprise the role in season two premiere flashbacks. The plan was, of course, abandoned after Darabont was removed from TWD.
Ah..I forgot about that. Of course my kids were like thats the Guy in Star Wars The Force Unleashed game.
^^ And he's also Aiden in Being Human Definitely somebody to keep an eye on. I'll have to re-watch The Mist now that I know all these actors better.
I agree completely. In regards to the ending, there is talk that Stephen King heard about the film's ending and slapped his forehead and said "Why the hell didn't I think of that?". Apparently he really liked the changed ending.
Yeah, I've heard that. That's his prerogative, of course. I always liked the anti-climactic, yet vaguely hopeful "Alfred Hitchcock ending of the original.
On October 23 Titan Magazines (current publishers of Star Trek Magazine) is launching a quarterly Walking Dead magazine. It will also be available Nov. 8 in the U.K., and Dec. 18 in Australia and New Zealand: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/walking-dead-magazine-343128
They should include short fiction showing what's going on with other people in other parts of the world.
