12 years. It never seems like that long, but when I realize that Voyager still had about four or five new episodes left to air when I joined up it all starts to fall into place and make sense. It's been twelve years. I think "Author, Author" or "Friendship One" was the Voyager episode that aired the week I joined the board.
My first thread was about it being time for Trek to have a gay main character. It was not well received, I think largely because there had been a whole bunch of discussions on the exact same topic in the preceding few months. (Probably because Enterprise represented the first major influx of new main characters in seven years.)
My 12th anniversary was April 26th! Totally forgot about it. So yeah, I'm an old timer! I remember your first name- Mr. Gleep. Oh, God, those shipping wars were fun.
Hey, I'm #64, apparently (although I remember that I had to register again after the Great Board Crash) How many of you were around before me and are still active, I wonder?
Can't remember what the first thread I started was about. Though I'm not usually one to start threads. Besides it can be hard enough remembering details from yesterday never mind over 12 years ago.

I had a 10 year anniversary in March. Completely forgot about it. It's amazing how when you first get here you care about that kind of thing. Then a few years later it just doesn't seem to matter all that much. Time Flies when you're having fun I guess.
It's all a matter of the proper bait, apparently Welcome back, Logicissary! You were a bit before my time, too (2 years), but that's no reason to not stay a bit and get to know us. You'll see we not-quite-so-ancient-ones are a nice bunch.
If your first visits to the Trek BBS were on a dial-up connection and there had been only one Star Wars prequel in existence when you joined up? You're an old timer.
