Jack's fault too. He could have prevented the creation of Evil Ben by saving him. Jack screws up by doing stuff and by not doing stuff. He sucks either way.

Good observation. So Ben became Ben because of the actions of Sayid and Jack who were both trying to stop Ben from becoming Ben.
Yes, at least Kate and Sawyer had a choice, and knew what they were doing, but Sayid's action and Jack's inaction really created Evil!Ben!
Of course, it couldn't have played out any other way (or maybe it could have and someone else would have acted and done the same thing, who knows). Either way, Ben had to turn out the way he did. So, in spite of the immense irony of Jack and Sayid creating the Ben they didn't want, they couldn't have stopped it either.
