Wow, quite a comeback for the Cards. I prefer the Giants going up against them anyway. They only beat the Nats once in the reg. season but were even with the Cards. Plus, now we get home field advantage going into the NLCS. Should be interesting...

I admit that I turned the game off when the Nats scored again in top of the ninth. I didn't think they could make an insane comeback like the 2011 Cards did. So imagine my surprise when I went online a couple of hours later...

    Ugh, Yankees/Tigers and Giants/Cardinals. Boring. I was hoping for Reds/Nationals and A's/Orioles.

Sorry to disappoint. Not sure what's more exciting than the last two WS champs going head to head to make a return trip.

I would love to see a Cards-Yanks World Series. Let's see how the LCSs go. Awesome playoffs so far. It can be a lot of fun to watch when your team is on a golf course as it doesn't really matter who wins. You just get to watch some good baseball.

Go Tigers Go! The only team left that I'd like to see take it.

So much for parity in Major League Baseball. It's always the same teams in the end: Yankees, Cards, Giants, Rangers, so unless you're a fan of that handful of teams, you're in for disappointment each year. Why I only go to Jays games when I get free tickets.

Sorry. If my Red Sox can't be in it, I'd like to see different teams there. I don't have as much of a problem with the Giants or the Tigers, it's mostly the Yankees and kind of the Cardinals. A Giants/A's World Series would have been interesting, I think. Same with Nationals/Orioles.

    Hot damn!

I don't even really care who wins, because my A's are out of it, I'm just watching because I enjoy baseball. But... HOT DAMN!

He came up to bat, and of course I thought about it - EVERYONE thought about it. But, nah, that's not actually gonna happen again.

    And then BOOM!

And suddenly, the Yankees have been stabbed through the heart.

What a strange turn of events. I have a feeling Jeter won't be back tomorrow...

If the Tigers hold on and win here, they'll have about as much momentum as one could possibly hope for as they move on to the rest of this series.

Jeter has a broken ankle and is out for the remainder of the season.

Girardi just said that Jeter fractured his ankle and is most definitely done for the rest of the postseason. Big blow to the Yankees to go on top of a tough loss.

ETA: Bah, ninja'd by Starbreaker. :p

That's a tough break (no pun intended) for the Yankees, he was the only other one hitting besides Ibanez.

I'd like to see just the opposite, but if the World Series is as exciting as the playoffs have been, I'm okay with any matchup.

Jeter going down and the Tigers winning last night changes the entire complexion of the series. Really tough luck for the Yanks.

Hopefully the Giants learned how to hit at Home based on their performance in Cincy. What a day for Sports in the Bay Area. Starts off with the huge 49er game, and then goes north about 7 miles for Game 1 of the NLCS. I can't wait.

Which is ironic, 'cause if Ibanez didn't tie the game Jeter would still be standing on two feet.

Kinda makes up for Sabathia breaking Markakis' thumb.

    Go Tigers!!
