Just finished reading Days of Darkness: The Feuds of Eastern Kentucky by John Ed Pearce. 3.5/5

Eastern Kentucky was a very frightening place to live during the 19th and early 20th century.

I haven't decided what to read next.

Hmm. I'm in the process of writing a flash fiction for the Gigantic Worlds project and scripts for three audio adventures-- but I might see what I can come up with over the weekend. :D

Can't say I've figured it out yet though; the violence is rather graphic and I'm not really sure there's any particular point to it all... Oh well, the sex is extreme and some of it isn't all bad

Dragon Champion, by E.E. Knight, on my Kindle. It's a great story, told from the dragon's viewpoint.

just finished reading a story by Ghost07 :) Absolutely awesome stuff! I think there's a future bestseller author among us.

Next on my list: "The Muzzle" by Heinrich Spoerl. The novel is set in Imperial Germany (same era as Victorian in GB). When returning home from the pub in a rather intoxicated state, a state attorney puts a muzzle onto a statue of the emperor. The next day he can't recall that he did it and is ordered by his superiors to investigate and prosecute the very case (it's considered treason). Gradually, he finds out that it was him and he's at quite a loss what to do. In his despair, he hires a pauper to confess to the deed and go to prison for him. When in court the man claims he "had no idea it was an image of the Emperor but had thought it to be some kind of Goethe" he's promptly aquitted.

I am currently reading the latest Karin Fossum book to be translated into English - I Can See in the Dark. I am four chapters in and it looks like her main character, Riktor, is going to equal some of her characters in previous books. Fossum is really good at creating disturbed and interesting characters.
