Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread I've just ordered a copy from Amazon uk, I'm so looking forward to it coming
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread Found a copy at the Barnes and Noble at Newport on the Levee today. First Trek book I've actually been looking forward to in a while... Don't let me down Greg!
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread Found one at B+N in Rochester, MI. Still feel somewhat treasonous shopping at that place as my wife was an 18 year employee at Borders.
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread I'll be buying my (e-book) copy on Tuesday when it comes out. Looking forward to it!
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread Was up last night till 1:00 AM reading it. Not to get spoilery, but I figured out the minor revelation about the stowaway (but not the major one). Is it just me or did the Enterprise on the cover look somewhat "generic"? As if the artist couldn't decide on "classic", "refit" or "JJverse" and kind of went with all three.
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread Picking this one up on Tuesday for my Nook. Love time travel / bending adventures. Have high hopes for this one. You know, I can see that. Smart marketing move if that were the case.
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread I've had the book less than thirty hours, and I'm already past the halfway point. Very compelling story. . . . time marches on . . . Wow. What a ride! That was the fastest I've chewed through 370 pages in a long time.
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread Got a copy! I like it: interesting exploration of Trek history and a reconciliation with our present, nice to see the solar system in the Trekverse, good to see the TOS crew in their prime.
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread Woohoo, it just downloaded to my kindle, promise to vote on when done.
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread Mine is on the way, maybe here to start reading it in Saturday.
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread Up to chapter thirteen, so far I'm liking where this is going. A few things caught me, some names I shall not mention got my attention.
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread Finished it at lunch today. I thought it was a good book, but I had an idea about Spoiler: spoiler two of the characters as soon as they were introduced. To me, I just knew that they were either related in some way or that was the same person who belonged to a long lived species or a time traveler. - Not entirely correct though I'd recommend it
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread I got this today, can't wait till I have some real free time to read it! I love me some new Cox, especially new Trek Cox... ncc71877
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread Enjoyed it, for the most part! Greg Cox can definitely spin a good yarn. Here's my review.
Re: TOS: The Rings of Time Review Thread Nice review. When I read the book in manuscript, I did the same thing you did -- as per Quantum Leap, Stargate, and other shows with "body-switching," I visualized Kirk when it was Kirk inside Col. Christopher (unless the scene was from another character's POV), and vice-versa. My mental casting choice for Shaun Christopher was Ben Browder.
