(note to Mods/Admins: This concerns Tribbles in general, but at the same time it's news, a kind of game and kinda freaky fan-stuff. Hence I thought it'd best fit into Misc. Feel free to move it, if you find a better place for it) Years ago, the American Heritage Center in Wyoming got presented with a lot of stuff from the Star Trek series. Recently, one of their employees, who happens to be a Trekkie, re-discovered the items. Among them is a Tribble, donated by Forrest J Ackerman, for which the archive now is seeking a name. The name ought to express the typical nature of a tribble. Entries can be emailed to ahc(at)uwyo.edu, with "Tribble Contest" and your name in the subject line. They also can be posted at the center's Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/UWAHC The deadline for entries is Oct. 22nd Source: http://news.yahoo.com/wyo-tribble-naming-contest-marks-archives-month-203347481.html
If I had a bunch of tribbles I'd give them all Klingon names. The MIGHTY KOR!! :: shakes small furry ball in your face :: And then I'd mash two of them together into cleavage and call them Lursa and B'Etor.
But Kor's a boy's name! Tribbles are born pregnant, so surely they need to be female names? Korina? Korette?
While I like the following names and think they'd be great, I don't think others will agree: Stormageddon or Fred. More appropriate(?): Crazzal, Gerish, Frim, Sotzie.
Unkempt hairy appearance, bearing an irresistible charm as seen by the general public, regarded as a joke by peers, getting into all sorts of mischief that only endears him further, undermining the authority of the people in charge, and with a penchant for procreative affairs (allegedly)... why, the only suitable name has to be Boris.
Naah, I've heard much worse names for kids I wonder if ad´fter teh cotest they'll publish the chosen name on their website. They don't even have info about the contest itself online yet! There are a few newspaper articles about it, though. My Tribble would be called something that indicates how much the species propagates. Myriad, perhaps. And though this is a stolen name, doesn't Woozle sound rather Tribble-ish?
How about names from other fandoms.. This is my tribble, Chewie. And this one, THIS one is named Badger Sorry we don't have Kaylee any more.. she was accidentally smothered with adoration.
