Essentially correct, although "Reservoir Ferengi" in the Seven Deadly Sins anthology does fill in the year after The Soul Key as far as Brunt, Gaila, and some other DS9 side characters are concerned.

^ That in the same series as Inglorious Nausicaans and Kill Sloan?

The Seven Deadly Sins anthology didn't appeal to me on its surface, but I may have to pick it up now. Is "Reservoir Ferengi" a Ferengi story or one that really is more of a DS9 story?

^It's very much a Ferengi story, centered on Brunt. But the Ferengi characters were a major part of the DS9 tapestry, and the novella does occupy the first full year of the 4-year gap, so I feel it's worth mentioning in discussions of that gap.

Thanks. I imagine there are no plans to fill the gap?

Ah. Hmm. Now, I'm so sure I want to pick up the Anthology.

Overall is the anthology a worthwhile read?

Most of the stories in it are good, so I'd recommend it. I haven't read the Mirror Universe, or Pakled stories yet though.

Are you reading the new anniversary addition with the annotations?

Still the original one. As I had that one, I didn't bother getting the anniversary one. I wouldn't mind seeing the annotations (and to see if there are other changes) but we'll see about that.

Just finished Rings of Time, a very enjoyable story. Today I'm starting on re-reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. On deck is Romulan War: Under the Raptor's Wing.

I didn't buy it for the same reason. But after looking at it in the bookstore, if I were to reread it I'd probably break down and buy it!

The quality is a bit mixed, but overall I would say it's worthwhile.

Just finished Romulan War: To Brave the Storm. It's very good, in fact I was surprised by how good it was, considering how bad Michael A. Martin's last Trek novel (Seize the Fire) was. I didn't much care for the first Romulan War novel, Beneath the Raptor's Wing, mainly because of the reporter side story, so I was glad to see that particular plot didn't make a return in To Brave the Storm. Overall, I think it may be the best novel in the Enterprise relaunch.

I'm about to start on Bioshock: Rapture.

Finished Mission Gamma: Cathedral last night and loved it. Now I'm onto Genesis Wave, Book 3 and from there it will beach onto Mission Gamma: Lesser Evil.

Finished up The Sundered last night. Not quite as brilliant as I remembered with the resolution to the diplomatic crisis occuring a bit too quickly. Besides that, the Neyel were a fascinating race.

    Up next... Taking Wing.

I had the same problem with the last Enterprise book. The reporters side story was not that interesting. I may pick up this novel now that I know that angle has been abandoned. Thanks for the info Cap'n Crunch.
