Nobody is forcing you to listen to the radio, or pick up a magazine, or watch her on TV, or anything like that. If you don't want to hear that song, it's easily avoidable. Hell, I've never even heard it, or anything else she's ever recorded.
Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'm a let you finish, but Beyonce had one of dem best videos of all time. ONE OF DA BEST VIDEOS OF ALL TIME.
Why the hate? Two words: Jealousy. Ok, that was one word but you could say it twice and it would still apply.
I did imply that I hear it at the mall where I really can't avoid hearing it, but if your brave defense means you get to be her next boyfriend-for-a-week, good for you. (I'm joking ... I don't see Taylor Swift as a terribly serious issue one way or another, and thought that was clear from my earlier posts.)
I love Taylor Swift. Not that I think she's the best artist or best person ever. I find her really ridiculous, but I like that, plus she makes catchy music.
I couldn't pick a Taylor Swift song out of a marathon of Taylor Swift songs on the radio. I was going to say "Taylor Who?" but someone already more or less beat me to it. The more she gets this type of attention, the less I want to know about her (less than zero?). It sorta reminds of a sideshow freak that people gawk at. Does she bite the heads off live chickens? No wait, I don't want to know.
I didn't mind her until it seemed all she was doing was trashing her exes in her newer songs. That's just not cool, there are two sides to every story and it's not exactly fair we only get hers.
Of course she has a lot of accolades. Awards in this day and age are purely political. She is a pop-country singer, and she writes purely about her distaste for her previous boyfriends. She has insulted them on stage, ridiculed them, and it just isn't very nice. I don't like mean comments aimed at ex-lovers. If you guys didn't get along, oh well. You don't have to make their life hell by writing songs about them.
Frank Sinatra didn't get dumped by the city that doesn't sleep, Zepplin didn't have an affair with a stairway, and Michael Jackson didn't marry zombies on Halloween (I'm assuming). It's pretty easy to take the high road, and even if not, you can at least try not to be subtle about it and not use their names in live concerts to trash them. She needs to mature and grow up and hopefully her music will follow.
Do they get any royalties? Maybe she made a deal with the ex's because she knew it would get her publicity to be blathering out their names and misdeeds.
Sinatra isn't a song writer. And who knows who the "lady who's sure all that glitters is gold" is or why Plant wrote about her. Yeah, Thriller is about zombies. Didn't MJ write a song about a lady named Billie Jean? Maybe Carly Simon should stop singing "You're So Vain" and grow up.
