If humans are ineligible, I'd have to say the inhabitants of Beta III who were in the Body, due to the religious symbolism in "The Return of the Archons". Being a preacher's kid, I was pretty much a true believer in the will of Landru. But after dad died, I was not of the Body. Although Festival was some pretty fun times.

The thing is we really don't know much about the rank and file TOS Romulans. For all we know, the majority of them may have pretty much been the same as their TNG counterparts. I think the commander (Mark Lenard) might have been atypical, like Admiral Jarok. He seemed bound by duty and an admirable honorable Romulan, but also seemed disillusioned by the "system."

But that all said, if I were to pick an alien I'd identify with, it would be the Romulan commander, too. Good choice!:techman:

What about: Vulcans, Klingons, Romulans, Betazoid, Vorta, and I suppose I'd want to put Cardassians, Bajorans, Changelings, and Ferengi. Hm, maybe Borg, Andorians, Species 8472, Xindi, El-Aurians, Denobulans, Kazon, Jem'Hadar... so that's 17. Can you think of any big ones I'm missing? I haven't watched TAS yet so I'm not sure which species are at the forefront of that series.

^The Ba'ku for those with mommy/daddy issues, the Gorn for those hostile folks, and the Q for those who think they're above the rest.

I guess it's what other is for but I forgot to say add the Breen for the mysterious. Maybe the Xindi can fit that bill.

I don't think that many can say that they perfectly fit the description of one of the alien species in Trek. Most of the species we come across are archetypical, and tend to have one defining quality that is almost hyperbolic. Some may consider themselves to be a Klingon, but they may not be violent most of the time. Some may consider themselves to be Q, but certainly there are times when they know that they are not omnipotent.

But what species am I closest to? I would consider myself to be Vulcan, for the most part. I'm calm and logical.

Although, there are certainly times when I'm more TOS Romulan or maybe even a bit Cardassian.
