I voted "most evenings, a drink or two."

Generally either a tall drink--my favourite is cognac and lemon soda--or a snifter of some kind of fine brandy, or, lately, a glass of absinthe.

(That reminds me--I'm out of cheap cognac. Better hit the liquor store before I start mixing the expensive stuff)

But almost never more than a drink or two. In fact, now that I think about it, I can't remember the last time I had more than two drinks in a day.

And I haven't gotten really drunk in ten years. Can't say I miss it much. Drink less, drink better--that's my motto nowadays.

None at all. I guess I've never really developed much of a taste for alcohol.

Not a great deal to be honest - the odd can of cider at a weekend or a glass or two of wine for special occasions (nights out with friends/ workmates) but that's all. I haven't got seriously drunk (i.e had enough to venture out onto the dance floor at parties :D) in a long time.....

It's more occasionally always for me. I've actually been getting back to drinking wine so that's the main alcohol I drink. I might have a beer or two on the weekends.

I'm one of those in the "tried it, but don't drink" category. I've seen booze destroy several members of my family, and want no part of it.

I have a drink several times a week, usually on the weekend. I enjoy a nice glass of wine with dinner occasionally and a Martini or two from time to time.

  7. I do not drink, and do not plan on doing so in the future. I enjoy being in control of my own body, and would never do anything to jeopardize that control.

Seldom, which comes down to 5 beers and 2 glasses of wine per year.

Yes, because when one has a beer one shits himself instantly.

I am glad that beer is NOT my drink of choice.

I used to be a regular drinker back in my teens and 20's - sometimes roaringly drunk, sometimes not. I was quite the pub-dweller for a while. I'm not that bothered these days, and I can rarely afford even a couple of beers anyway. But I do have the occasional drink.

  12. Even those that think they have control over their alcoholic intake remain susceptible to drunkeness through the possibility of accidently imbibing too much. I will never suffer from that problem.

Oh come on now, each to their own; some are alkies some are control freaks.

Personally I swing both ways ;)

Squiggy, this is the second thread today in Misc where you are needlessly stirring the pot and it's getting real old. All this does is create more trouble (just like in the thread I closed earlier today in which you were a principle player.) If this is TNZ driven, I'm going to issue warnings in the future if I see it. DO NOT drag your TNZ rivalry issues into this forum.

  19. I don't think I am better than you or anyone else. I am just listing one of the reasons I abstain from alcohol, that being the potential for abuse.

I'm not bringing TNZ into this and I'll thank you not to assume that it is. I get tired of people who don't drink or don't do a certain thing to think that they're superior to anyone else. Smugness irritates me.

Who ever things they can "accidentally" get drunk doesn't know enough about the topic to offer a valid opinion.
