As Mr. Timson said, the individual issues aren't on sale through Amazon. The trade paperback, which should be available some time next year in the summer or fall, will be available through Amazon, though. You can, however, order them online directly from BOOM! Studios's web site, or get them at your local comic shop. I'm not sure, but I do know that BOOM! will fulfill overseas orders, so you can order it directly from them at the above link. Rockne was the one who came up with the title, not me, but I get the feeling it was inspired by both Churchill and the Pumpkins....
They also have the comics for pre-order on Things from Another World. I've never actually used the site myself, but Dark Horse sent me there to but their stuff, so I'm assuming it should be trustworthy.
Bumping this for two reasons. 1) The first issue is out. So nu? Whadjyall think, huh, huh? 2) The next miniseries has been announced. Entitled Strange Detractors, it too will be plotted by Rockne, scripted by me, published by BOOM!, and have covers by Joe Corroney and Dennis Calero; however this time the art'll be by Will Sliney. If all goes according to plan, it'll debut in March.
My LCS did not have it, though they said it was ordered. Maybe it just came late, but they said there's no reason it shouldn't be on its way. So THAT Christmas present to myself well have to wait at least another week (hopefully that's it!!) What is the general plot of Strange Detractors? (without being to spoilery, if possible). I know this has the Hynerian angle to capitalize on no budget (great way to approach this, for sure!), is the next doing the same thing?
At your local comic book store. If you don't have one (or if they're a bunch of big fat stinkies who won't carry it), you can order it from Things From Another World or directly from BOOM! Also a fan group called Farscape Canada is taking orders of the comic for folks that can't find it at their local. Apparently, between the weather and the holiday, a bunch of orders were delayed. It's waaaaaaaaaaaay too soon to be talking plot for F:SD.
Thanks for the links. Looking at Boom's site, I noticed that they have the various covers shown for the various issues. However, there are a few that say "Farscape #2-4 (Cover A + B). Those three issues are not yet available. The title for the entry says "Cover A + B". Are only certain covers available with that order? Or is it that with that subscription you get duplicate copies with both covers A and B?
I am tempted to order that comic, but overseas shipping will cost more than the item itself! Maybe I'll wait until the 4 are out and get them together, or simply for the paperback. I discovered there had already been a 2-book comic miniseries of Farscape in 2002: FARSCAPE: WAR TORN, but it seems to have had bad ratings. Same for me There might be a (UK) shop about 60 miles from me that'll get it though. (They seem to get a lot of US stuff but it's not listed on their website yet) EDIT - ANother one (Forbidden Planet) has the Hardcover one scheduled for late March though. I don't know if the shipping costs will be cheaper for you from here?) http://www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_music_info&products_id=49955
Diamond Distributors has sold out of Farscape #1 in five days. *happy dance* There are still copies available -- some stores haven't sold out, some (thanks to the holidays and the crap weather in some parts of the country) haven't gotten their initial orders yet, and some mail-order sites (and BOOM! themselves) still have a limited supply -- but they'll be going fast. BOOM! is discussing the possibility of a reprint with Diamond.
That is FANTASTIC news, congrats to all involved! The best (and most selfish!) part is that it pretty much confirms that there will be many more adventures to be read and shared!! (Still hasn't shipped to my LCS yet, still eagerly waiting...)
I'm happy to hear these are doing well, KRAD. I'm holding out for the trade paperback version, but I'm cantankerous like that.
Definitely picking up the HC Trade on both of these arcs. I've been missing me some Farscape. I won't apologize for not getting the single issues, I just don't like collecting Comic Mini-Series like that. Maybe I'd feel different if it was Serialized... but honestly I'd rather just have another complete story every 6 months or so.
Well, it looks like there will indeed be a second printing of Farscape #1. Look for it in early February.
