Problem with the Kelly's bar scene and the toast to Luke 15:32. The bar has nationalist paraphernalia including a Glasgow Celtic top which means it's a 'Catholic' pub. Ryan asks if Liam went to Sunday school. Of course he didn't. Irish Catholic kids don't go to Sunday school. Shoot him!! He's a cop!!
Liam gave him a nasty look after he asked the question, so one good read the exchange as an ironic quip.
Really... Funny, they most certainly did when I was growing up. In my neighborhood, kids who didn't go to the Catholic grade school went to both Sunday school as well as Mass. Jan
My kids go to Sunday School, but it's now called Lectionary Based Catechesis. We've been to a few other parishes in the area and they didn't do LBC, so it must be selective.
Sorry guys. Didn't have my brain switched on. These characters would Irish-AMERICAN Catholics. I thinking of how things are in Ireland. My bad.
It's cool. But, yes, here in the United States, Catholic children who do not attend a Catholic school usually go through religious training at their church until Confirmation (usually around 14 years old). Our Parish happens to call it PSR (Parish School of Religion). The classes are on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings between masses. My thirteen year-old son, who happens to be an alter boy, loves Castle and found that line hysterically funny. Warmest Wishes, Whoa Nellie
*sigh* I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Kevin Ryan has really grown on me over the course of this show. It was so nice to see him in the spotlight. I just realized where I know Maggie from. She was on Defying Gravity.
There have been episodes where the guest star I do recognize turns out not to be the killer, but for the most part, it seems they are.
I figured out the surprise just as the lights went out across the way. I'm sure some of y'all got it sooner, but I'm not that swift.
^ Yeah, I didn't catch on until the lights went off either. It was a fun episode, and the next one looks pretty good too.
It was so much fun! At first I thought the 100th episode twist would be that it was really a killer for a change. Love it all.
