Yeah as much as I'm a Joe fan, I've gotta agree with Waid as well. Wacker probably did overreact but he was protecting his talent and being a good editor. That was a low move by Joe...if he didn't intend anything by posting those figures then why he did even post them in the first place?

Holy shit, that's hilarious  Much as I love Babylon 5, JMS does come off extremely conceited, and this is definitely a good example of that...

Joe did delete the original thread on his fan page but the discussion kind of continued somewhat with him and fans making jokes about it. I've got a question though...who's the blogger that Wacker referenced?

Re: Heroic Age/Avengers Ongoing Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Did anyone point to sales on Superman and Wonder Woman during and after JMS' runs on those books?

Maybe I'm missing the point here, but wouldn't that be just as valid as the chart JMS posted? And, like that chart, totally open to discussion on the how's and why's.

I'm getting to the point where figures mean nothing to me, aside from how they factor into a decision to change the creative team or cancel the book. I like things that others don't, I like things that others do, why should it matter how many others like it?

And count me in the group that, overall, likes JMS, but think that this, whether it was intention or not, went south.

No. Wacker has a long history of internet trolling and has been banned from all the major Spider-Man fan blogs and forums.

And JMS shouldnt have used those figures, they were made by a long term internet crazy.

I didn't know that about Wacker. I guess that is another reason why he reacted the way he did then. I like the fact that Dan Slott seemed to be neutral in all of this. My respect for the man continues to grow.

Dan Slott has been writing my favorite Spidey stories from the past few years. He really makes Spidey funny, and to me that's about the most important thing to the character.

My only real problem with Slott is that sometimes he writes Peter as really immature and goofy when other writers have managed to keep his sense of humour intact without him acting moronic at times. Bendis though does this as well in "Avengers" which drives me crazy. Giving Peter inane awkward quips and dumb jokes. I think people forget that Peter is a scientist and one well respected among the likes of Reed and Tony. Also...Slott has made me like Carlie Cooper recently after breaking up her and Peter. I didn't think that possible.

So I open the Defenders 15 minutes ago and naturally assumed that the woman in bed with Doctor Strange was Betty Banner...

    Not her.

    Strange is a letch.

    Namor is a letch.

Danny is on course to grow up to be a letch

Norrin however seems to have been welded into a cosmic chastity belt a thousand years ago but... Mantis spent 20 consecutive issues trying to rape him and the Surfer all but ignored the lady's keen interest, so he probably hasn't even noticed he has no access to his penis yet.

I mean Namor might seem out of the Question because Betty isn't Blonde (I remember the 70s, it was just a phase she was going through) but she is married. The Submariner really digs married/taken women.

    It's his wheel house.

I read Avenging Spiderman #2 last night along with Moon Knight #8.
    Both were good reads.
Best line out of AS#2 was Spidey telling Red Hulk, "Lets see if you can be a hero without being ordered to do so." I did roll my eyes at the end when Spidey let the word Rulk out of his mouth. Overall though a nice first arc

Moon Knight #8 continues with the Kingpin of LA storyline. This is part 2 it seems after the opening arc. They keep referring to Count Nefaria as a Thor level baddie and I'm just not that familiar with him. Must have missed him in my Thor reading. My only gripe is that I'm over the head games of Marc envisioning what Cap/Wolv/Spidey might do AND using some of their gimmicks. He even comments he "needs a webshooter".

Nefaria isn't a Thor villain, he's (generally) an Avengers villain. He was also the guy the X-Men were fighting when the original Thunderbird got killed waaaay back when.

As a matter of fact Steve Wacker posted...

But, yeah, Mark Waid for the win...

To be fair Namor's always been a letch. The X-Men books have teased him going after Emma.

Sue Richards, Emma Frost and his cousin Namora.

    Inappropriate and blonde.

Although, in the past, before Cyclops, he's tapped Emma.

    Yes he has.

There was a flash back comic showing their goings on printed some time ago.

It was in an Uncanny X-Men Annual a couple years ago I think.

"Thor level" means he is in Thor's power class. In an Avengers story line back in the 80s (?) Nefaria gained super-strength, speed and optic laser blasts, prior to that he was just a regular human. As you might guess from that power combo he was a pastiche of Superman.

The annual I referenced above came out shortly after the Cabal one shot and was designed to be a retcon to reveal Emma had past histories with both Tony Stark and Namor.
