It's a new universe. They should have killed off Kirk and had Mitchell take over as captain. ;)

    this should be new

    http://www.showbiz411.com/2011/12/20/next-star-trek-adventure-no-original-cast-members

the first articles hints at some revelations happening in the comic books leading up to the movie

the second article says kahn is unlikely

the third article says no original cast members will appear in the new star trek movie

not realted to articles, but out of curiosity could some of the mentions about captain pike indicate that there are talosians in the new star trek movie?

I still think Cupcake is Gary Mitchell.

    I'm not joking, BTW.

Kahn is even less likely than Khan.

That's another old one. We had a thread about it in July, when the article appeared.

Here's a suggestion: watch the following news sources.

    TrekToday
    TrekMovie.com

When a new story appears in either or both of those places (you can subscribe to receive notifications by email or RSS) then you'll know that it's something which might be discussed here. Please do not continue to dredge up old stories and post links before you've even finished reading the articles. That's considered spamming, and we've got a rule about that. (Do read and become familiar with all of the rules concerning posting on this board - it'll save both of us time, in the long run.)

He's one of the cadets who gets into a fight with Kirk at the bar. He later turns up on the Enterprise as a security guard.

I forgot that Mitchell appeared in the comic, though. :alienblush:

Ok. I did create another talosian thread though. My intent for that is not news just discussion. There are so many threads about kahn I just wanted one to be about discussing them.

I've closed that one. There was no substance upon which to base a discussion; the mere fact that you've decided you want them to be in the movie isn't enough to go on.

If you really want to talk about Talosians, do some homework first: check your Stardates; come up with a reason why our crew would only be encountering Talosians now, rather than in 2253(?) as happened in the Prime timeline. Come up with a reason why they'd be encountering the Talosians at all in this timeline. Come up with some sort of plausible idea of what such a story would be like.

After you've done your research and have some actual material people might be interested in discussing, then maybe it's time to start a thread. Don't start the thread first, based on a fragmentary idea, and then expect the topic to materialize afterward - it doesn't work that way.

News flash: Robin Williams signed to play "Trelane" in Star Trek sequel.

[OK I made that up, but wouldn't it be awesome?!] Since hints have been given that it may be someone from Season 1, here is my entry into the rumor mill.

    Probably a female voice-over artist.

Probably the same person who did the voice of Kirk's escape pod. Or maybe Spock's ship.

I'm sure picking a different computer voice in Trek's world is no harder than picking a new ringtone is today.
