Does Anybody want to talk about Axanar (in a non-degrading, non-belligerent fashion)?

^^ After a concerted attempt to troll people into belligerent behaviour, I don't see why you're now complaining about it.

But I'm game for talking about actual Axanar: I've been quite enjoying the Axanar podcasts, they're an interesting listen.

 

Perhaps the impact of their antics is exacerbated by the stereotype of the fan film fan as someone who is nerdy and obsessive.

So it is a sort of confirmation bias.

 

Maybe... but ye Gods, on a Trek group of all places people should be able to put that in perspective.

 

Just looking over this — interesting that they have Babylon 5's John Iacovelli as their set designer.

It is a human tendency when one is part of a minority to look for an even smaller minority to mock or even attack.

 

Also, interesting based on Axanar's Nov. 14, 2015 Kickstarter update is that the production is looking to also recruit Babylon 5 producer John Copeland, a person who certainly knows how to handle a tight budget.

I seriously wonder, what happens to some fanatics, if their so desired project fails to deliver? Will they be just protecting/defending or going to fight back so hard, some noses might bleed?
AXANAR might or might not be The Holy Grail of fan filming, as at least one person believes it to be. But, still, there is such a very huge gap between wishful thinking and reality when it comes to AXANAR being produced as a series for CBS.

And it doesn't help matters, if anybody shouts: "WAIT.FOR.IT! SOON! END.OF.NEXT.MONTH!" As long as such fantasies keep going on without ANY indication or proof, topics like this one keep derailing...

I'm a fan of a lot of fan films. Prelude To Axanar is in the class of those with impressive production values. I'm interested in seeing Axanar succeed. I have invested time in discussing the project, I continue to do so, I will see the finished project when it is released, and then I will discuss it some more. What more in the way of credentials do I need?

 

When the discussion remains about Axanar, I keep the thread open. When the discussion devolves into merely a discussion about the discussion or about Forum participants, I close the thread due to the comments no longer being on-topic or significantly contrubutive.
