This project looks to be one of the better such projects I've seen ... probably ever. I love everything about it so far.

If you run a Kickstarter to fund this beast, I WILL back you.

Also, with regards your Latin, I think you may have meant "Ad astra via mare." The word per means "throughout, during, by means of, or by(as in an oath)" whereas ad is the preposition equivalent to the English to.

Per astra via mare could work.... it IS a correct sentence as far as I can tell, but it actually means something a little different than you may have thought, if your meaning is to suggest a going forth towards something.

Excellent work, though... I want to build desktop models of all of your ships!

Thanks for your enthusiasm! It's really encouraging!
You can definitely expect a Kickstarter in the future. Probably more towards April or May. There's gonna be a reasonably high standard for costume and set construction, so that alone is going to be a financial hurdle to overcome.

As for the Latin, thanks for your tips. I struggled between "per" and "ad", because I wanted to communicate something a little more double-meaning (hard to explain concicesly), and my Latin-scholar brother suggested "per" due to some linguistic mumbo-jumbo I could call upon. But I totally forget what that was. I gotta reevaluate that and see if it's gonna be "per" or "ad" before I order the real plaque!

And feel free to make models of the ships! It'd certainly help get the word out! And maybe I could feature the model in the actual film, too!

Hey, no problem over here; I just jumped on the opportunity to expound on an aspect of the "look" of the movie, haha. I could go on about it for hours, so any time I can pipe up about an aspect of the movie, I do. xD

Make it May. I'll get a bonus at the end of April and can back more generously in May...

I'll keep that in mind!

Okie dokie, time for some more new stuff!
Here's a work-in-progress look at the NX-class as it'll appear in Pacific 201. The original model is by "Star Trek: Horizon" producer Tommy Kraft. I've edited the model to bring it closer to TOS design.

Yikes! Don't include that ship in your fan-film! The design is from Star Fleet Battles and ADB is aggressive about their IP.

Besides, the original designs in this thread are already a lot cooler.

Yeah, there aren't many Starfleet ships that will appear in this film. Think of a normal Star Trek episode, and usually the only Starfleet ship is the main ship. In this case, the story features two Starfleet ships - the Pacific and the Interceptor. But the NX-Class will have a short moment to shine, as well. But beyond that, there's not much to mention.

Just noting some commonalities and was curious if this a case of Hodgkin's Law or there was some inspiration, and I agree the 201 is a nicer design.

Yeah, I meant to address the similarities, since I thought that might be a goal of you posting that - whoops.
There's definitely some similarity in that design to the 201. But I actually have never seen this design before! The 201's nacelle configuration is inspired by the Constellation-class more than anything.

A new production video blog! In this installment, I talk about what inspired the Pacific and influenced its design.

Well spoken and reasoned. Carry on. (although there is something to be said for ergonomics)

Here's a new prototype costume we've been working on: an officer's jumper.

The thing on the top of the nacelles looks like something from Space Battleship Yamato (Star Blazers) or Macross (Robotech) D

Haha, I'd be lying if I said there wasn't any Yamato influence in my work!

On another note, here's the prototype officer jumper on an actual person!
