Wow. That does put it into perspective. I wonder where that dorsal view came from...

Edit: Found it. It's the new Hotwheels miniature. There's also apparently a new Klingon Bird of Prey design that has a passing resemblance to a cross between Shinzon's Scimitar and the Romulan Valdore from Nemesis.

Sweet. Do you know where the Vengeance schematic came from by chance? I'd like to be able to update the chart I made from the trailer screencap with an actual side view drawing if possible.

[edit] Never mind, Gebirg posted the source above. Thanks.

The script was written long before the effects were done. The door was likely noted in the script as being just big enough for the Enterprise to fit through. Nevermind that the little tiny Jenolen was powerful enough to extend her shields far enough to hold open the doors for a ship that was much bigger in comparison.

The engineering and shuttlebay sets in this film leave no room for argument over whether the nuEnterprise is signficantly larger than the Jefferies ship. It's at least twice the size.

It's Star Trek; it never has made "perfect sense."

I don't really care about the size argument but I thought I'd drop these here, maybe they could be of some use?

I thought there might have been some change to the appearance of the exhaust end of the nacelles too, though I might have imagined it. Is there an image of that around?

Not that I'm aware of, yet. Just the impulse engine.

Hmm, the second picture seems a little more refined in general, a new render model maybe?

As large as the ships were in this movie, they still managed to make space feel big.

    How'd we get a picture?

Actually, it looks like something from this book you youngsters should check out:

    http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Mr._Scott's_Guide_to_the_Enterprise

The impulse engine designs are clearly there as concept art for the TMP Enterprise.

I never said the hanger bay was 18m across. I said it was at least 26m from my measurements (at the bay doors -- it gets wider as you go in). Why do you keep pushing an incorrect figure? And furthermore, only the biggest shuttles are 12m long. The rest are shorter.

This makes no sense. Why would the wall be visible in the adjacent window? It's clearly another room or hallway. Those rooms clearly fit in your lower insert, despite your attempt to eschew the size. There has to be room between the floors for infrastructure and the like (piping, J tubes, conduits, etc....). No way more than two decks could be there and include that.
