It won't be that bad. After the first two DS9 episodes, Sisco refound his insperation for staying in Starfleet and set aside his hard feeling for the Locutus thing, telling Picard to not send in his resignation. I think Sisco executing Picards orders would be interesting, though I do picture Picard scolding Sisko for bending the rules to get the job done and Sisco replying with alot of stern 'Yes sir's. Awesome for a warship, maybe, but when a crew member like Barclay comes in with his transporter phobia, Worf would say something like: "The next time you transport, think to youself 'Perhaps today is a good day to die.'"
I have too many favorite characters and settings, so I'll have to cheat and offer a few versions. Starship: Galaxy class USS Enterprise, with a bridge refit to add a few stations cited below. Commanding officer: Jean-Luc Picard Chief science officer/first officer: Spock Operations manager/second officer: Data Chief medical officer: Leonard McCoy Counselor: Deanna Troi Chief engineer: Scotty Security chief: Tuvok Astrometrics officer: Seven of Nine Communications officer: Uhura Flight controller: Geordi LaForge Starbase: Deep Space Nine Commanding officer: Benjamin Sisko First officer: Kira Nerys Chief science officer: Jadzia Dax Strategic operations officer: Hikaru Sulu Chief medical officer: Julian Bashir Chief of operations: Miles O'Brien Security chief: Odo Counselor: Phlox Community leader: Quark Starship: D'deridex Romulan warbird Commanding officer: Mark Lenard's commander Chief tactical officer/first officer: Toreth Chief science officer: Telek R'Mor Chief engineer: T'Rul Chief of security forces: Tomalak
This is a kind of fun idea, but a lot of the combinations would make for pretty boring television. The particular relationships between the individual characters in each show were the dynamic that made each one unique and entertaining in its own way. For example the antagonism between McCoy and Spock being balanced out by their mutual respect for and friendship with Jim. So even though I love, for example, Data, his presence in this dynamic would ruin it. Having said that, here's one that I think would make a terrible show: Captain: Neelix First Officer: Wesley Crusher Second Officer: That annoying barber guy with the blue head on the next generation Tactical: Will Riker Navigation: Thomas Riker Security Officer: Paul Blart: Mall Cop Science Officer: Nurse Chapel Ship Counsellor: The Crystalline Entity Red Shirt: The Outrageous Okona
Ship: USS Voyager....cause it held up for a damn long time. Captain: Janeway First Officer: Major Kira Helmsman: Tom Paris Security Chief/Tactical: Tuvok Chief Operations/Science Officer: Data or Jadzia Dax Chief Engineer: Miles O'Brien Medical Chief: The Doctor/EMH Chef: Quark Counselor: Deanna Troi Awesome extras: Scotty Spock Seven of Nine T'Pol Dr. Zimmerman Nog Garak Icheb
Ship: Enterprise K Captain: Harry Kim First Officer:Worf Helmsman: That alien in a box from the TOS episode where Diana Muldaur's character was blind Communications: Mr. Homn CMO: Tom Paris Chief Engineer: Reginald Barclay Chief of Security: Dr. Crusher's granny Counselor: some Pakled I think this is a fine command crew that would work flawlessly together.
Thanks for jogging my memory. Enterprise K is a special ship built to the specs of Starflleet's most legendary ensign, Harry Kim. At the rate his career is progressing, by the time he makes Captain it should be sometime in the 27th century, and I figure they should be up to the K by then. Plus it stands for Kim.
I can't decide between Intrepid class, Akira class, or Prometheus class. :/ I'll get back to you when I decide :P
Dang...good crew but the Delta Flyer?!? Tom loved that thing, but it would get crushed quite easily if it came into contact with a huge enemy ship. Then again....I bet Seven and O'Brien could create some kind of badass cloaking device.
Nevermind, I'll just give them the defiant. The Delta Flyer does pack a punch but a hard crew should get a hard ship. I didn't put Torres as engineer because then they would all kill each other.
