Star Wars: The Old Republic anticipation thread.

The Reupubs followed their dance party with a mass suicide off a ledge in Coruscant to celebrate the end of beta. It was hilarious.

 

I finished the Revan book last night.

And now I'm on the verge of a complete nerd RAGE.

 

Why?

 

I'm going to assume CorporalClegg didn't like the fate(s) of a / some character(s) in the book. I'm not quite sure how I feel in that regard, though overall I enjoyed the book (Deceived, too, for that matter; Fatal Alliance not so much).


BioWare has been releasing tracks from the soundtrack on the game's Facebook fan page. These tracks are not on the soundtrack included in the Collector's Edition, and they are releasing one per day up to the 20th. Seven tracks have been released so far.

As I understand it, lighstaff is just another word for those. My point was, there's black crystals? Awesome! Although the yellow hue around them is a weird choice.

I read the two chapters that came out on swtor's website, and was suitably intrigued. I was thinking about getting it, but then realized that the plot had already made it onto wookiepedia when an unrelated reasearch thread led me to the appropriate pages. So being spoiled to the whole story, I don't know if it's still worth a read. Although the presence of another major playable character is definitely interesting.

 

For those individuals who don't already have a copy of the game installed, now is the time to download! You need to have pre-ordered the game and redeemed your pre-order code in your account on the SWTOR.com website. Early Game Access invitations will start being sent out on Dec 13.

Writer essentially took the destroyer of the force and turned her into a whiny, inapt wanker who didn't know when to duck out of spite. You know, sort of like Trip.

Then he turned around a pretty much did the same thing to the most popular Star Wars EU character in history.

So I just looked up plot spoilers for Revan (I don't plan on reading the book until it hits paperback), and as someone who isn't exactly a fan of a certain sequel...I'm okay with a lot of what I read.

 

My copy of TOR has been posted ooooooo so close yet so far away.

Still have no idea what "my copy of TOR has been posted" means though.

I've had TOR installed for 2 weeks. They have already said early access invites are going out the day you actually get access, so what "copy" is being "posted"?

 

That means his physical copy of the game has been shipped by the retailer from which he purchased it.

 

Ah, of course. Physical media, so last millennia.

 

I wonder how many people they'll let in the first wave.

I didn't get my pre-order until the 25th--four days after it was announced--and there were something like 200k pre-orders at the time already.

 

I waited till early september, after I played the first beta weekend.

 

I'm guess people who preorded before November will all get in on Tuesday. It's just a matter of what time.
