No doubt in my mind, I would have given the Best Picture Oscar to Interiors.

The Deer Hunter by a country mile. None of the others come close.

    The Deer Hunter.

And I doubt anyone who remembers the Vietnam War would vote any differently. That whole Russian Roulette by choice (rather than by force) scene was simply one of the most memorable (and harrowing) scenes of 1970's cinema. I haven't seen this movie in about 20 years, and I remember that one scene quite vividly. I was positively dumbfounded.

The Deer Hunter is part of a trilogy of 'Nam movies that are Must See Material, the other two films being Apocalypse Now and Platoon.

If you haven't seen these three movies, then you simply haven't seen 'Nam in the movies.

I vote Deer Hunter, which is a great film with memorable characters. And you get to see Christopher Walken both Dance and go crazy, which are his two trademarks:)

Seriously though, love the movie. it's really depressing however so I don't catch it too often. How many movies are there that are more depressing?

Not much of a contest here. The Deer Hunter.

The Deer Hunter features some great cinematography, and some great performances, but as a portrayal of Vietnam it is deeply flawed and even racist in its depiction of the Vietnamese. So I'm going out on a limb here and voting for the superior Vietnam film here, Coming Home.
