Wolverine and the X-Men is by far the best thing thats come out of Schism.

Don't care that much for UXM because of the rather forced characterization for Cyclops.

Secret Avengers was the one Avengers title I was reading mainly for Moon Knight and Black Widow. Since Moon Knight got a solo I dropped it though. Just for Black Widow wasn't enough justification. I miss her prematurely cancelled solo book.

I dropped it when I saw Ellis was going be the writer. Not keen on his mainstream superhero work.

I was going to order the Black Widow..just as they canceled it. My typical luck, I suppose.
I do find her character more interesting than many other Marvels female characters. It is a pity that she did not get her solo movie like Iron Man and some of the other Avengers did.

There is a rumoured Black Widow solo movie in development. They're waiting for "Avengers" to come out first before Marvel Studios activates it's second wave of character films, and there had been four films released before "Avengers". Scarlet Johannsen was only just signed for "Iron Man 2" and "Avengers" I believe...not sure the current status of her Marvel Studios contract. It could be a mult-film deal.

i like all the non-Bendis Avengers books. Rick Remender of Uncanny X-Force and Venom will be taking over Secret Avengers soon.

^ Yep. I'll probably be jumping back aboard. I recently have gotten back into "Avengers" thanks to the Hammer War and am looking forward to the Ultron War...Bendis though I think needs to wrap up his run soon. He's stagnating.

^And Bendis is indeed soon wrapping things up for his Avengers run...

If this is going to be an ongoing discussion thread for Marvel, then maybe a thread title change would be appropriate. That way we don't get excess threads like the X-Men vs Avengers thread. Maybe "Marvel ongoing discussion, formerly Heroic Age"?

Title change sounds like a good idea imo if OP is up for it.

^ Agreed and yeah if a mod wants to change the title I'm all for it since Heroic Age has passed and we're under the Shattered Heroes banner. I figured that Bendis might leave soon...after the Ultron War story line next year would be my guess.

thank god Bendis is finally leaving. the only story of his that i thought was decent was that Avengers Prime mini. so who would you guys like to take over Avengers once Bendis leaves?

Hickman but don't think that is likely. Maybe Brubaker if he's game.

Dan Slott would be my first choice. Followed by Christos Gage, Kieron Gillen or maybe Mike Carey, who just wrapped a long run on X-Men: Legacy. ETA: Or Chris Yost.

As for Bendis, while I do agree that it is time for him to move on, I've largely enjoyed his run. He gets a lot of hate, but he turned The Avengers into Marvel's best-selling franchise, and that hasn't been a bad thing.

I dunno if Slott could handle an ensemble book. I mean I like him on Amazing but he still has problems writing Peter as mature, he makes him too goofy when other writers don't do that...Hickman for instance or even Cage when he guest wrote. Cage would be excellent. Chris Yost needs to stay away from Avengers. His X-Men: First to Last crossover in the summer was terribly disappointing.

Abnett and Lanning. They're pretty much my go-to answer to who should write anything.

I loved Slott's Mighty Avengers. That's why I named him. I picked Yost for his work on the Avengers animated series.

I wouldn't be surprised if Matt Fraction ended up taking over. I would stop reading Avengers if this happened but it's possible. It will most likely be one of the other Architects.

    Defenders was amazing.

If Matt Fraction is doing Avengers with the same quality of Defenders, I'm ready.

And hopefully it'll get him away from Iron Man or Thor.
