More fun with the fleet yesterday killing Borg and 8472's. Please excuse my newbie-ness to team play. I have been playing solo since I started and the team dynamic takes some getting used to. I think if we had live chat (speaking not typing) as we played it would help. I used to play WOW and still play LOTRO. LOTRO has in-game chat but it is horrible and glitchy. Me and my friends open a Skype session group call to play. Makes coordinating the team a lot faster and easier.

Sure, but I have rarely heard from fleet members that they have a headset hooked up.

I have one, but usually am too lazy to hook up my own.

For what it's worth the game has Vivox voicechat implemented, though sometimes a bit glitchy.

Otherwise I don't think any fleet member owns a voice chat server.

I've been playing EverQuest since the year 2000 and was in an elite raid guild consisting of Japanese, Hong Kong, Singaporean, Australian, New Zealand and American players who practically shared no common language for communication. So trust me when I say that speech while helpful, isn't necessary in this type of game.

That is why I suggested Skype. I have a headset and will hook it up next time we play. That way I won't miss it when I get a message to start on the chat line that blows by and I keep the team waiting for me for no reason. It has been my experience that the in-game voice chats usually suck, WOW and LOTRO are both horrible.
DOFF's: I got rid of all my beginner white DOFF's because they were useless. I'd rather have one good green who will complete a DOFF mission than five who waste my time. But I will look into the fleet DOFFs. Sounds like a good place to get them for a reasonable price. I thought the AH's for WOW and LOTRO were over-priced but the prices at the exchange can be ridiculous.

I think it pays off to use the fleet doff vendor.

You can pick them career and quality specific, though specialization is random.

The ones you don't need you can downgrade to common whites and put them back into projects which will return you some more fleet credits (though at a bit of a loss I think) or sell them on the exchange.

Checked out the Fleet DOFF guy. A much better deal than the exchange or even the standard fleet personnel officer. I'll be trading in my chump greens for whites to get blues. Thanks for the info.

While I wouldn't call it a priority really, the Special Project "Museaum Quality" on the starbase is just 14k dilithium from completion. it will unlock a few special banners and a UFP logo for the interior.

Once that's done we start working on the Dance Floor, which I believe is the last real cosmetic improvement available unless we count security guards and a tribble infestation which I'm not too keen on.

I just got an Avenger Battle Cruiser and was going to equip it with fleet beam arrays when I realized we've run out of Military Operational Asset Provisions.

I hope you guys don't mind that I've queued up a Mil. OA provisioning project in the starbase queue.

Wrong provisions. Military Operational Assets are for buying consumables to summon reinforcements in fleet Events... Practically useless.

Edit: Never mind: Personal equipment project is slotted. :)

I just kicked off the current Spire provisioning project. The next one which starts tomorrow will unlock the next holding upgrade to T2.

I set up a daily event to run through the FEs.

The plan is to play one roughly Series a day and rotate through them for the duration of the even.

The 15 Lobi daily is completed by a single episode. So if someone is pressed for time he does not miss out.

The missions are more fun in a team, so you might wanna hold off on playing them solo, plus some of them reward team/career accolades you can not get by playing alone.

If the time slot is inconvenient for anybody, feel free to set up a second one.

Spire: Research Facilities T2 upgrade is live.

Llease focus dilithium and fleetmark contributions there, same as science/medical doffs.

otherwise we need a bunch of warp coil and stem bolt commodities plus spire provisions from the replicator.

Just kicked off the spire operations provisions project and put a lot of warp coils/industrial replicators/etc into other projects.

Most projects just need dilithium, fleet marks or science/medical duty officers to get going.

I noticed that the Starbase personal equipment job will only get us 20 items, are we going to do more of those so we can build that up more or are we going to focus on other projects first?

prefer to focus on the bigger projects/upgrades at the moment vice just building up provisions stockpiles. Not that we can't work some in, but we're close to tapping out the mine, the spire T2 upgrade gets us a lot of stuff, embassy is close, etc. No need to pump the stockpiles for provisions at the moment unless we're totally out of something...
