i know a lot of people answered this...but for me:

Transformers -- there was WAAAY too much detail. Forget HD & Blu Ray -- I couldn't make out the robot characters. And on top of that...i didn't really care about any of them, even Optimus Prime.

Green Lantern -- i actualy thought the 1st half was really good. But when they dumped the other Lanterns and made Hal the sole GL protecting & saving Earth (and subsequently, the universe)... that was lame. It felt like they ran out of money, and had to scale things way down. Even though it was a solo movie...having Hal part of a GL team would have worked FAR BETTER. They could make him "the Hero" by doing things that other GL's never thought of doing. Being human, he could have had some crazy ideas of how to use his ring (vs. a "standard procedure" GL's might use).

With Avengers, i cared about even the minor characters, and was sad that Coulson died. And this really felt like a team, with different strengths & personalities.

And on top of it -- there was just enough humor, making it feel like a comic book movie, without being tooo comic-booky.

And lastly...this fit right in with the previous movies (especially with the special scenes)...so this was anticipated, like the next episode of a favorite TV show i'm watching.

Now, it didn't have as deep a message as the others, but it still was a lot of fun for me.

I love how the One-Shots are getting bigger and delving deeper into the universe. Great way of exploring things that wouldn't make the cut in the feature films. :techman:

Lizzy--liked her since I saw her in True Blood season 2(?)

Another cool reason to pick up the BluRay.
I like how the intent is to show how the fallout affects "Joe Public" at their immediate level.

I like the assumption/expectation that these featurettes could be a nice way to showcase other Marvel characters even at some point down the road.
Perhaps a test vehicle themselves as launching pads.

    Dear Marvel,

These One-Shots sound great. Please stop screwing over the casual fans and make them available on the DVDs too! :(

I had absolutely no idea there was any kind of 10-disc set. I was talking about the bare-bones Red-ray.

( And I wouldn't call it outrage, more like disgust. I don't think I can justify outrage at merely being compelled to get off my ass and go to Target. )

In the lap of squalor I assure you.
I saw the Avengers Porno parody last week.

The scripted bits were very entertaining, Hawkeye was as ass, but unfortunately none of the actors or actresses could stay in character during the sex scenes, which I fast forwarded through mostly because although the costumes were spot on it just didn't make sense why any of the sex was happening... Well maybe Black Widow and Hawkeye, they have some history, but Ms Marvel saying that it was unecessary for the Scarlet Witch to use her mutant hex powers to make her gay becuase she was already into her...

    Such a laugh.

Just wondered if there are to be any Marvel movie panels at Comic con this weekend? Maybe giving some previews of the upcoming sequels, and any other news and tidbits?

This weekend The Avengers finished #15 with $543K to bring it's US domestic total up to $616M..and change.

For those who may not know the primary/main/core universe designation where Marvel stories are told is Earth-616.

It's $1 theater run will start soon. It's only playing at one of the 7 cinemas in my area with only 2 showtimes a day. Splitting the theater with other films.
I'm guessing it can pull at least another $4-5m in a dollar theater run.

I saw it again a couple weekends ago. There's a theater near here that shows it every evening at 7:30PM. Saw it on a Sunday night and it was still a packed auditorium, so clearly there are still people who want to see it on the big screen.

Marvel released 7 clips from the upcoming blu-ray & dvd. Including the Thanos after credits scene and one with that Captain America girl that wasn't in the movie.

I don't see any clip with the girl you mentioned. Aren't you mixing it with the one showing a preview of the new Marvel One-Shot short film?
