Hey Johnny, what are you rebelling against?
    Whadda you got?

This week's contest is all about rebels--quite a common theme in science fiction and fantasy. The rebel is anti-establishment, turning on its master, trying to escape oppression, fighting against "the man," fighting to stay free physically, politically, mentally, spiritually.

    Some examples are:
    The crew of Blake's 7
    The rebels in Star Wars
    The Browncoats of Firefly
The Resistance in the different versions of "V"
The main character in V for Vendetta
    Castiel in Supernatural
    The Maquis in Trek
Robin Hood & Co. from Robin of Sherwood

I'm sure you can come up with even more on your own. If there is any question about whether someone is a "rebel" or not, I will make the final call. Any science fiction or fantasy book, comic, TV show, or movie featuring a rebel, rebellion in social or political forms, beyond that of a kid wanting to dress differently--not a rebellious teen, but something that's more part of a larger movement or struggle.

Standard BBS rules apply: 150 x 150 pixels & 140 KB max. Please do not post avs you do not intend to enter. I'll put the poll up on Tuesday.
Here's mine, a show I discovered when I was teenager:

Aidan doesn't drink from live people like every other vampire and throughout the first two seasons, he has to defend his way of life to other vampires in authority like Bishop, the Dutch and Mother.

Josh looks at the wolf as a curse, and not a blessin' or a release like other werewolves he meets and he refuses to be a part of a pack or start one of his own. He locks himself away in cages or storage units durin' his change instead of runnin' free.

Sally doesn't use her door like every other ghost she meets, instead stayin' focused on the mortal world and her supernatural friends. She even sends other ghosts into limbo and fights against the witch who brought her back in the third season, even though the witch had authority over her.

Plus, the fact that Aidan, a vampire, and Josh, a werewolf, even stay friends and roommates is an act of rebellion against their cultures. That all three are tryin' to be "normal" is rebellion against their own nature.

How's that? Good enough, or should I come up with something else?
