The wbshop.com had the VM DVD seasons for $9 a piece plus free shipping for December and January and half of February.

They are now back to $40.

Anyone know how much an average episode of TNG and DS9 cost to make?

According to this link, from 1992, it's two million dollars per episode. It's the LA Times, so I'm guessing they know what they're talking about.

I know (hope?) you're joking, but come on. She's an actress. She's not some plaything you can rent.

Heck of a newsday for me today. Two of my favorite shows are getting the big screen treatment, Veronica Mars AND Alan Partridge! Aha! (Now, all I need is for Joss Whedon to bring back the Buffyverse, Law & Order to come back, and Lost Girl to get the big screen NC-17 adaptation it's always deserved.)

I guess we're going to see where this Kickstarter funding niche genre shows goes fairly quickly:

I love Chuck but the writers of that show knew when it was going to end and the show had a proper ending--they didn't get prematurely cancelled like Veronica Mars did. I wish the team well should this actually proceed but I'm not sure I would participate in this KS.

If we want to talk about genre shows yanked prematurely, there are tons of other more deserving ones (Pushing Daisies is the first one that popped into my head).

CW turned the show into the "90210 Detective Agency".

I hope they continue to use The Dandy Warhols for the theme song.

AS for other possible Kickstarter projects, if the fans of VM can raise $2M in 10 hours, I wonder how much and how quickly Firefly fans could raise for a movie's budget?

I wondered the same thing. Turns out it doesn't really matter according to Joss Whedon himself because it's not happening any time soon:

The last Firefly movie cost $35-$40 million, that isn't going to get raised.

He also seemed to forget there is Suits in the way. We would need what's her name back.

35-40? Probably not. But 10? 15? Probably possible. Combine with normal means of fundraising and a Netflix miniseries or the like seems plenty possible.

Methinks today is a good day for the Mars fans (Martians?) who contributed...

And an even better day for those who didn't.

Judging by the KS page, 15 grand will get you a SAG card.

And possibly a chance to get cut from the movie.

    Yes and no.

There was a conclusion to the arc they had been playing out over season four, but the last episode ends on a definite cliffhanger of sorts, but in terms of an "ending" to the entire series, I thought it worked rather nicely.
