Also Saban or Nick have planned to extend this season so that it runs for two years. The first 20 episodes are to test the waters and see if Power Ranger's on Nick is a viable source of income/ratings. If it does well another 20 episodes will be ordered Totaling to a 40 episode series with 9 episodes cut out of Samurai Sentai Shinkenger's 49 episodes. No doubt they'll do this to Goseiger aswell
I thought i'd just give an update on both fronts First Power Rangers: Samurai Promo to air in February on Nickelodeon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3aFeqZ5OxA Second Sentai's 2011 series to start in February. It's an anniversary season. The first picture of 2011's Sentai Team(Power Ranger's 2013) Kaizoku Sentai Goukaiger Clarified information and then some
How can a Sentai team be pirates??? Pirates are bad guys! Although I guess if the "Zords" were based on sailing ships, that would be a change of pace from the usual cycle of animals, cars, and animal-cars. And they can turn into past Sentai heroes? I.e. recycle costumes from old seasons? I guess that's the anniversary theme... but it also kind of fits the pirate theme, in the sense that they're "stealing" others' identities. As for Samurai, are they bringing back the old MMPR theme (which I never much liked), or is that just for the promo?
The pirates theme was primarily chosen for the rise in popularity(One Piece, POTC) The mecha rumors GoukaiGalleon (Pirate Ship, Red), Airplane, A Car, Submarine, Trailer. Future mechs will have relations to other sentai, such as Wizards, Detectives, Samurai and beyond. What it sounds like to me is auxiliary mecha will be designed to pay homage to different themes There could be dino aux headders, ninja headders etc etc. The headder concept is basically smaller auxiliary mecha/toys that attach to points on the robo The current series Goseiger started the concept Here is how they're used for toys. Goseiger had three sets representing Sky, land and sea http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYOcX2gsG0s Here's how they're used on the show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dM6I3D6Yqyw GoseiGreat for this year's series which will end in February RUMOR The Goukaiger robo will wear different headders for attacks The Power Ranger theme in the Samurai promo was purely for nostalic reasons
So far besides a ranger key(Vul eagle) nothing from pre 2000 yet 1st Quarter toys Credit to SUNGEL Toy listing from Dukemon22
Samurai is only the 18th Power Rangers season right? We shouldn't expect another reunion/crossover until the 20th I reckon, yes? Or do they go with the Sentai anniversaries? The only crossover that I remember very well was Forever Red, it was the 10th PR Anniversary and 25th Sentai.
^ They could always adapt Goseiger for the 19th season of Power Rangers, leaving the Kaizoku season for the Anniversary season of Power Rangers.
Which is how things are shaping up right now. Power Ranger Samurai 1-20 If successful in the spring 20 more episodes will be ordered 2012-Goseiger adaption hopefully will follow the same pattern Fall 2013- 20th anniversary. I just having a feeling Bandai of America will screw up the toy line since the Samurai line looks atrocious.
I think they'd probably go by number of years, not number of seasons. Actually there's usually a crossover with the previous year's team on an annual basis, reflecting a Sentai tradition. Though I doubt that will happen on Samurai, since RPM was not only from different producers but was set in the future.
Yeah they started that with Lost in Space I think. However they also had the big reunions every 5 years. I was thinking about the next big reunion.
No, I believe the first time Power Rangers used footage from a Sentai crossover (a tradition that had been around before PR existed) was in Power Rangers Zeo, when the "Alien Rangers" (based on Kakuranger costumes and footage) returned for a guest appearance. But if you're referring to Lost Galaxy, that was the first season that started with a whole new Ranger team from scratch rather than having a continuing cast from the previous season and just changing their costumes. So it was the first time they could really incorporate the footage from a Sentai crossover and use it the same way, as a meeting of the current and previous Ranger teams.
The first official crossover episode in the PRU was Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 3's "A Friend in Need", which was a crossover with the yet-to-be-launched Masked Rider, Saban's 'Americanized' version of Kamen Rider. The full list of PRU crossover eps is as follows: "A Friend in Need" (Parts 1-3) [Mighty Morphin Power Rangers] "Rangers of Two Worlds" (Parts 1-2) [Power Rangers Zeo] "Shell Shocked" [Power Rangers in Space] "Always a Chance" [Power Rangers in Space] True Blue to the Rescue" [Power Rangers in Space] "To the Tenth Power" [Power Rangers Lost Galaxy] "The Power of Pink" [Power Rangers Lost Galaxy] "Trakeena's Revenge" (Parts 1-2) [Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue] "Time for Lightspeed" [Power Rangers Time Force] "Reinforcements from the Future" (Parts 1-2) [Power Rangers Wild Force] "Forever Red" [Power Rangers Wild Force] "Thunder Storm" (Parts 1-2) [Power Rangers Dino Thunder] "History" [Power Rangers S.P.D.] "Wormhole" [Power Rangers S.P.D.] "Once a Ranger" (Parts 1-2) [Power Rangers Operation Overdrive] "True Blue to the Rescue" started the trend/tradition of the current team of Rangers teaming up with their immediate predecessors (either in part or in full), while "Always a Chance" started the trend/tradition of the current team of Rangers teaming up with Rangers who were not their immediate predecessors (a trend continued in "Forever Red" and "Once a Ranger"). Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Seasons 1 and 2, Power Rangers Turbo, Power Rangers Ninja Storm, Power Rangers Mystic Force, Power Rangers Jungle Fury, and Power Rangers RPM did not feature crossover episodes of any kind.
That's a good question. It could go sometime before SPD, if you're willing to believe Earth could be repopulated in only a decade or so (which is no more farfetched than most of the other things you have to accept in the Rangerverse). Perhaps, when Venjix took over, most of the Earth's population was evacuated with help from aliens such as the Eltare, Aquitians, KO-35 inhabitants, Mirinoi, etc. And when Venjix was defeated, they would've returned, along with many aliens they met out there, and thereby set up the SPD future. Although with the series returning with Samurai and hopefully beyond, that'll be hard to reconcile. Maybe it's more logical to conclude that RPM takes place shortly after SPD, and all the aliens living on Earth left or were killed off when Venjix took over.
