So there I was, looking for a new DVD player for my computer that crapped out on me. I Google Computer Parts store and head on over to a small hole in the wall joint that had good reviews. I was greeted by a nice guy at the counter whom asked polity what I was looking for and walked me to the area where they kept the drives. I walked around this place looking at all of the great stuff they had when I noticed a shelf of misc items that no computer store should have. I wanted it. I read the price tag and knew I had to have it. If the price tag was labeled correctly there was no way I was leaving without it.

^I am a nerd, too, because if I had that, I would giggle and do a geeky happy-dance while clapping like an idiot.

I tossed most of my Playmates action figures when they turned white with Mego molt. I still have the bridge, the transporter, and the shuttles. Loved that stuff.

That Playmates line was phenomenal. My childhood collection was sadly lost to time (I blame Mom), but I've started collecting them again when I go to conventions.

Sweet. I actually got the old transporter playset and a shuttlecraft when my mother-in-law closed down her daycare.

is this the nerd coming-out thread? Hi, I'm rhubarb and 25 years ago I gave in to the sudden urge to buy the blueprints of the Enterprise D.
    :D

Don't worry, ThunderAeroI, you're in good company here :)
Btw, you made quite a bargain! Congratulations!

I try not to, when at all possible. I'll gladly pay the additional money at the local place for the parts if they have them in stock. I'l go online if all else fails - or Best Buy is the only remaining option. I've had local stores order my stuff before going a block to give Best Buy money.

That was my thoughts when I noticed the price of it. $50.00 for everything, oh hell yes. I momentary considered not doing it, but I knew if I left that place without it I'd hate myself. And I'd really hate myself if I came back latter and it was gone.

According to Ebay my collection isn't worth much, maybe just the $50.00, but its not about the money as it is about the memory.

I think that would be a bit redundant on a Star Trek forum.
