The first two seasons of DS9 were TNG lite. The same format as Voyager for all season seasons. DS9 didn't come into it's own till season three with the introduction of the Dominion. Better story telling doesn't always equate to better ratings. But it was clear they were trying something different which was either going to rechallenge the audience or alienate the audience.
Perhaps if would have been better if VOY had started to air either after DSN finished or later during it's 6th or 7th year.
After the Dominion had annihilated the Maquis? Good lord, none of the stories in Voyager would have worked without the Maquis constantly being edgy in the background!
I myself never watched them when they aired,i was a baby. but its always the case with competitive series. I totally agree with what you said.
The older you get, not that you are certainly getting older, the less sure you'll be be that whenever you have declared adulthood, pitching a flag, that it's a sincere testament that shouldn't be conveniently annulled and moved to a less ludicrous point in history once you've wizened and matured a touch more than you had 5 or 10 years ago,not that I'm certain you can mature or wizen. Didn't I besmirch a 20 year old you just a couple days ago?
Yes, I might have but UPN wasn't going to wait. That and even if it started after or later during, the over saturation had already begun. I still think the outcome might have been the same.
