I am surprised to learn I had posted 60 times! Most of those were thank-you's and blatant begging for cool avatars...

I'm hoping to have some time to whip up some pre-vis in the next couple days.

I've been steering clear of Trek XI lately (trying not to get spoiled), but something told me to check out Blue Nacelles today...and whoa! I found this--

    And this--

Both excellent! :techman: Nothing like the classics, eh?

    And then this!

My name up in lights! With a whole 8 posts! T'anks, M'

^ Fantastic! How do you do the crease/fold effect? Is it a function of your photo software?

It's actually very easy! All you need are high-contrast B/W textures. Use one or more of them as layers on top of your main picture with the blend mode set to "screen". Take the layer opacity down a touch and that's it!

    Here's the ones I use:

    Folds
    Scratches

And of course you can flip, crop, resize and rotate them once they are layers to vary how it looks.
"Crumpled paper" textures are good, too.

    LIES!

It was all Jolly Rancher buttons, big-ass toggles and a cardboard switch attached to a really long coat hanger!

Ah! The toggling of the big ass was mentioned on the news. How you can walk straight after that is a miracle, sir!

No adaptation. I just thought "Attack Of The Lizard Man!" sounded better than "Arena". And I like b-movie stuff. And sombreros.

Dear lord, that's the most sinister looking headgear I've ever seen.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the bowler one of H.P. Lovehat's ideas?

The dude making the cast list gets the top billing? very suspicious. I am reporting it to the guild.

I don't care for my position in the cast list, I think I will do much better in the "shouting Spock" credits.

Excellent! Thanks so much for the tips. I can see me using this new knowledge to great effect. I'm just self taught, mostly wih old Adobe PhotoDeluxe. Only recently have I started using Adobe Photoshop Elements.

    Thanks again!
