Hold up! So Riker had sex with that Malcorian from first contact.

I thought it was against one of the rules of first contact? Or is that that a Kirk amendment?

Its the first rule of first contact!

Right after establishin' that a species can travel faster than light, ya gotta ask, "Can we have sex?"

The woman wanted her 15 minutes of fame, he felt sorry for her, so they agreed to do it so she can sell the story to the Malcorian tabloids to say "I had sex with an alien!!"

In seriousness, I bet the writers had a good laugh at that, since that's probably the angle they intended for that plot aspect.

It was Bebe Neuwirth, so can't blame him too much.

He had to do what he had to do in order to try to escape. So, in essence, he was only doing his duty.

Riker was pretty smooth, not Kirk smooth. Sometimes those things just happen.

Honestly, I don't think we EVER heard anything about such a "rule" until that one episode of VOYAGER.

Nobody had ever mentioned it before.

Yeah, but to be fair, Kirk was just really smooth. If I'm ever captured, and made to fight in an arena at the behest of three disembodied brain aliens, I'm going to try the "what is kiss?" maneuver on my hot and sexy Drill Thrall.

Wouldn't have worked since "contract" is a word too. ;)

The "what is a kiss?" move should probably be known throughout Starfleet as the Kirk Maneuver.

See also "Catspaw," "By Any Other Name," etc.

Certainly, there was never any indication in TOS that fooling around with sexy alien babes was against the rules!

It's just a shame there wasn't any sexy alien stud fooling in TOS.

Well, there was "Who Mourns for Adonais." Carolyn Palamas got awful cozy with Apollo as I recall . . .

And, of course, every babe that macked on Spock was going for some hot alien stud action. Hello, Zarabeth, Leila Kalomi, Droxine, etc.

And if poor Chapel never fooled around with an alien, it wasn't for lack of trying . . . .

And let's not forget that pioneer in Earthwoman/alien relations: Amanda Grayson!
