^ I can't see the IGN image (all of their sites are blocked at this university, for some reason), but as for the other, publicity photos and portraits are generally very difficult to work with in photomanipulation, because of, differences in the lighting techniques used for portraiture and film, the angles of similar problem, and that the subject is generally looking at the camera and/or otherwise reacting to its presence rather than ignoring it, which makes it difficult to carry off the illusion (looking at the camera can be corrected, somewhat). I looked at several images of Ms. Chaves-Jacobsen, but only had about twenty minutes, and so chose an easy one. (Galactica and post-First Contact Star Trek go well together lighting-wise as it is.)
A heads up to anyone with an account on Memory Beta: This image is currently being voted on for approval as a supplemental image. Anyone with a registered account can vote "yes" or "no" to using the image. If the vote is "yes", the image will be labeled as an artist's interpretation of the character based on comments here at the Trek BBS.
Please tell me you're joking and are aware that Firenze is the Italian name for the city of Florence.
well, i thought there was probably another explanation but, no i didn't know Florence was called Firenze in Italian... so, that macho centaur is actually called 'florence'? HA!
I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I'd always pictured Nan Bacco as resembling Barbara Bush. And no, I'm really not sure why.
All I know is that they both have similar hairdos, both are people I don't want to piss off, and both are master politicians.
