Here's the video that makes the comparison between Starship Troopers & Star Trek XI:

And here's the video that makes the same comparison between Star Wars & Star Trek XI:

BTW, the guy that made these two videos likes the new movie, and made the comparisons for fun!;)

I watched a minute of the Star Wars one and got bored. Wow, both films have a chase scene...clearly rip-offs. The guy was doing it for fun, sure. However, at least make some sense.

I actually enjoyed watching both of those videos. There are a few similarities between Star Trek XI and those movies. It was clearly done by a guy who enjoys all of the movies involved, and it was all in good fun.

It might be sacreligious to some of you, but I loved hearing the John Williams score over the scenes of Trek XI. Especially the twin Tatooine suns bit when Kirk sees the NCC1701 being built, and the Throne Room medal ceremony bit at the end when Kirk gets his captaincy.

I'll have to pull out my Starship Troopers and Star Wars DVDs again.

John William's score over anything is awesome.

The Star Wars score is good, but nothing beats his Superman score. Best soundtrack on the planet.

As for the comparisons, every story in the last 50 years that deals with youth coming out of rebellion into redemption has practically played out the same way.
