This is very exciting. I'm so relieved that Daniel Craig is returning, after rumors speculating that he would not. I'm also very glad that Sam Mendes is directing, as the prospect of him helming a James Bond movie is pretty enticing in my opinion. However, I'm assuming Peter Morgan is off the project? Last I heard, he did a draft of the screenplay, but the article mentions John Logan. Is this some error or is Logan on the project? http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=73150
great news. i was afraid that Craig would only get two films like Dalton did. also glad that Sam Mendes is still attached.
Very exciting indeed. Not sure about the John Logan bit...Morgan may no longer be involved with the script which would be an absolute shame, I was really looking forward to seeing his story. This means we have yet another blockbuster movie to look forward to in 2012. I know Bond 23 will be in my top ten most anticipated films.
REJOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYCE!!! James Bond Will Return.... Hmm...the next Star Trek...The Hobbit...and now the next James Bond. I wonder what it'll be called? Property of a Lady? Risico? The Hildebrand Rarity? 007 In New York? (I'm personally for Risico--of all Flemming's remaning tales, that one seems the most "workable" into a film, especially a film with Daniel Craig.)
Fantastic news!! And also absolutely brilliant that Daniel Craig will be returning! Wow 2012 is gonna be AWESOME for movies!
John Logan? Will the villain be a clone of Bond, played by an actor bearing no resemblance to Craig? Okay, I suppose it's time to forgive him for Star Trek: Messiness; good to hear that 007 23 is a go, especially with Craig returning and Sam Mendes still there, but I'm disappointed to see no mention of Peter Morgan. Here's hoping he does a polish.
No. He also wrote the botched Time Machine. Pleased Craig is returning. But I'll reserve my judgement for nearly 2 years.
That's not a name I needed to hear. Good news otherwise. I hope the film is grittier, more brutal, and more cynical re: the 'good' guys than even Quantum of Solace, really take the post-Iraq stuff to 11 ... and then cut Craig loose and start a new era. This is a good movement for Bond, but only in the sense that Dark Willow was good for Willow. Can't hold the note forever.
I hope it won't suck like the last few. Also I won't believe anything MGM says until they start filming the movie.
Well, he can be blamed for the screenplay. He's sone some great work since then though. It can't get much better than Casino Royale, but it definitely couldn't be any worse than Quantum of Solace!
Finally! As long as there's a Q, Moneypenny, opening gun barrel, 'Bond, James Bond', 'Shaken, not stirred', and he gets the girl at the end I'll consider it an improvement and right now don't care who writes it. If it comes out and sucks, then I will be displeased.
I liked that about QoS - that he didn't get the girl I mean. Notice that it was not only the first Bond film in which that happened, but also, remarkably, the first film in the franchise to raise the spectre of rape, which has of course traditionally been too ugly for the Bondverse. No coincidence that the two things featured in the same film, can't have Bond seducing a rape victim.
I don't understand why people hate Quantum of Solace so much. I thought it was plenty exciting. It had everything I want from a James Bond movie: things blew up, cars crashed, and James Bond shot up all the bad guys. Seriously, how much can you nitpick that?
