Reed: (confused) "Is someone planning on going somewhere?"

^ Actually that's not far from the truth, until Sim...

...but I've said too much. :shifty:

Sim: All we need to do is build up enough momentum to get out of here, Right?

Aw, he wouldn't be plotting so soon to...

...but I've said too much. [IMG]

Sim: "Well, we've got two perfectly good engines sitting in the Launch Bay. If we string a couple of grappler lines between the shuttlepods and the ship we can tow ourselves clear."

Reed: "The shuttlepods don't generate that kind of thrust. We'd never build up enough momentum to get clear of the field in time."

Sim hands Malcolm a padd and begins pouring over his work.

Inside T'Pol's Quarters, Enterprise's resident Vulcan is in her sleepware, sat crossed legged on her bunk reading some ancient book.

The chime goes. She puts down the weighty hardback and moves toward the door. Pressing the button, it opens to reveal Sim standing outside. He's in a flightsuit. A lighter, more faded blue kind than your standard Earth Starfleet one... without patches, department or rank markings.

    Sim: "Can I come in?"

T'Pol silently moves aside in reply. Sim has slowly reached the centre of the room by the end of his next sentence.

"Did you have a chance to look at my calculations?"

(Since when has a Vulcan ever "cut to the chase"? :p )

T'Pol: "A fusion overburn has never been attempted with a shuttlepod engine."

T'Pol: "I agree. Despite the risks, I believe it's our best option."

    Sim: "I remember."

He gazes pensively at the floor in the center of the room.

Sim: "We were lying right there, working the neural nodes on each other's feet...talking about the warp engines...how I was hoping to modify them."
