This avatar contest is about patterns found in the natural world: spirals of a hurricane, feathers of a peacock, fractal patterns of plants, the Fibonacci sequence in seashells, complex crystalline structures, cracks in salt flats, etc.

The usual avatar rules apply: no images from media, 150x150 pixels max dimensions, 140kb max file size.

Deadline for entries will be Friday, March 21st.

    Good luck, everyone!

Ah, the patterns of nature. Numbers are the building blocks of reality.

    Here we go:

Jupiter may have its Great Red Spot, but Saturn has its weird and unfathomable Hexagon. :mallory:

^ Oh, good. Yeah, I forgot to mention space, as well. I was hoping someone would include something like that.

Great entries so far, everyone. :bolian::techman:

Does the winged pattern of a butterfly count?

I was about to do space before my current entry. It always fascinates me.

The zebra one is great, though, too. Very striking.

Thanks. I'm sticking with it. The zebra pattern is pretty nature-esq.
