I've always seen those odd things in multiple first season episodes, on both the left and right windows, depending upon the camera angle. It's just more obvious now. I think it's where the curved glass distorts either the starfield behind it, or a reflection in front of it.

You can see the power cords on the floor of sickbay going to the diagnostic displays in several episodes. In the Battle in Picard's quarters you can see the paint is not smooth near one of the windows. Also, in Conspiracy when Geordi gets thrown threw the doors, you can clearly see they are wood panels.

Yeah I've noticed that his hair looks a bit thinner in HD as well. I'm thinking they must have covered it up in later seasons.

In one of the episodes I watched this week, can't remember which one, might've been either "Home Soil" or "When the Bough Breaks", Tasha's standing in the background at her usual spot on the bridge and you can see black shoelaces sticking out of her boots.

Again, this isn't so much something that's been newly revealed in the HD update, but simply more noticeable: you can see that the static starfield behind the windows aren't just a big curtain behind the set, but are a series of walls/floors as you can see the corners and change in perspective/angle. This was most noticeable to me in the episode "Home Soil" when Riker goes to talk to the girl in her quarters, she's looking out the window and to her right you can see the stars all cluster together because you're now looking parallel to the side wall instead of perpendicular to the back wall. A similar situation in the same episode when Picard is talking to the terraforming crew in the conference room, you can see the difference between the stars on the floor and the back wall as the camera moves around the conference room.

Here's an SD cap from the scene:

Watch Denise act. You can see her looking for her marks in scenes.

I've seen numerous times Michael Dorn's makeup doesn't go all the way to the color, or it's at worn off from his costume rubbing it off. I've also noticed chest hair coming out of the top of his uniform in most of these cases as well.

In "The Big Goodbye," in the scene in the conference room where Picardi s gushing about the holodeck program to the senior staff, closeups of Riker reveal part of a black undershirt underneath his uniform (probably to block the chest hair)!

I think a lot of the makeup and hair issues are a problem with the spandex jumpsuit. I think once they add the collar in season 3 I think a lot less of these will be noticeable.

Also, in "Coming of Age" you could see the curvature of the CRT monitors they used in the testing room rather.

Yeah, you always hear in interviews with the cast how uncomfortable those original spandex uniforms were (back problems, etc.) but in hi-def you can see it more how tight they are as a one piece. I can see how it seems to pull down on the actor's shoulders which would cause pain in the back after a 16 hour shoot.

I just finished watching "Conspiracy" and I noticed that in the scene in Quinn's quarters, when he's fighting Worf and throws him across the room, over the table and towards the replicator, when the stunt double hits the floor, he rolls into the replicator and you can visibly see the whole thing slide back.

I also found it interesting that they didn't fix up the stop-motion animation for the creatures.

I just finished the season with "The Neutral Zone" and I noticed a few things:

    1) In the scene on where Data returns to the bridge as the Enterprise gets to the neutral zone, you can see a glob of makeup on Brent Spiner's right eyebrow.

    2) In the scene where Offennhouse is wondering the coridors and enter the turbolift, at he top of the doors you can see 2 small "peep" holes just to either side of the seam where the two doors meet

    3) In the scene where Picard is talking to the Romulans on the viewscreen, when they cut to the shot from behind and above Picard facing the viewscreen, you can see Stewart's marks on the floor between con and ops.

Overall there are some odd things about this episode, particularly when it comes to security measures aboard the Enterprise. Guests seem to be able to wander around and access computers as they desire (explained as humans in the 24th century having self control). The Offennhouse is able to call the captain on a whim and just walks right onto the bridge. The kicker is that the chief of security along with at least 2 additional security officers are on the bridge and just stand there as he enters (granted they were probably distracted with the Romulans), but when Picard tells them to get him off the bridge, as soon as begins to resist they give up and 10 minutes later after he interrupts the conversation between Picard and the Romulans, when he's ready to leave, then they escort him off the bridge. Strange indeed, but overall this was a good episode as far as the Romulan plot goes.

Little stuff like that - that's what CG color correction should be used for!

That's what CGI was designed for! Replace it with a new CG creature!

I noticed how when Picard took the Chinese finger trap off Data's fingers, the make-up had rubbed off and you could see Spiner's real skin tone. I also noticed that Spiner's nipples are unusually perky in his uniform. *blush*

Not just that, but look at the very bottom of the right hand wall... Is that the edge of the carpet? Is there just a gap under the bottom of the wall? :rommie:

^ I think the wall is intended to have a rounded undercut like that, it isn't a mistake. Although the base panel could be better painted.

Troi's new season 2 uniform looks suspiciously like it's made out of carpet in HD. Poor Marina. :alienblush:
