What's with all of the TNG hate?

It had Picard, and Geordi, and Worf(even though I like him more in DS9), not to mention DATA!

Oh wait, it had Deanna and Wesley . . . . I see your point.

Name is abstraction (contraction?) of real name and homage to the great Tuvok. Though completely coincidentally have since discovered it's also the name of the Klingon boss in EF2.

 Like to think not a TNG-hater; just doesn't appeal to me as much as the other series :)

Beverlump: "I need to run more tests" (*vacant stare*)

Troi: "He's/she's/they're hiding something" (*concerned glance*)

Riker: (*puts leg up on Data/Wesley's console, cocks head at 45-degree angle and strokes beard thoughtfully*)

    Picard: "Tea, Earl Grey, hot"

Data: (*expresses emotions, then laments inability to express emotions*)

Geordi: (*consoles Data, otherwise does nothing of interest*)

    ...and I like TNG!

Yeah that's about the sum of my gripe, I just find it bland and preachy in rather too many places.. and none of the characters did anything for me which would usually excuse bland and preachy. I watch it for its important Trek history. Picard is a class act. Riker however I absolutely loath and why people like him is a complete mystery to me.

Im rather new to the community also, Voyager was one of the first that got me into Trek.

I love the concept of voyager, it took me a long time to get into the crew, because it just aint TNG but the idea of the long voyage home, like the Odyssey in space, its a wonderful story.

    Hello everyone, I'm MrBorg.

I joined these forums yesterday. I love Voyager, but have yet to see every episode of it(I plan to. I have seen every episode of DS9 and TNG though). I hope to become a part of your community.

    My view varies on this.

At times I hate this show and think it is by far the worst of all Star Trek shows. But there a few really decent actors and a couple of interesting characters. And it also has a couple of episodes that are as good as any post TOS.

I mostly favor 4th season on.

I can't stand Chakotay, Paris, Neelix, Kim, Naomi Wildman, & at times Janeway. The Kazon were lame. Seska was too over the top. Not believable.

I like the Doctor, Kes, Seven, Tuvok, Lon Suder, Ayala, and at times Janeway.

Well, one could say I'm hardcore,I started watching TOS in 1966,with my Dad.I've seen them all(vids) but haven't read all the books.Voyager is my fav series and I still play Elite Forces occasionally.
I hope to live long enough to see at least one or two of the science concepts come to pass, notably a free energy system that will give us the resources to spend to crack warp drive theories and and switch over to a plasma powered technical society devoid of stupid concepts such as money, debt, politicians, etc.
W/O too much horn tooting I can tell you some of the work I've been associated with as an engineer(sorry no details)
