Cool. Love having young Spock back, after all these decades, in the person of Quinto. :)

At 21 seconds into it, isn't that a glimpse of Cupcake?

Awesome. The first time we see the Klingon BoP zoom in after the Treklennium Falcon, it totally make a TIE Fighter sound.

    Cupcake's back? Alright, boycott's off. The movie's a must-see now.

I've never understood why anyone gives a rat's ass about Cupcake. He's the most minor of characters, barely above a background extra, and he's a jerk.

A jerk? He's the linchpin upon which the entire rebooted franchise depends. Cupcake's relationship with Kirk mirrors that of fans. Those who reject the new vision vs. those who accept it. Inevitably, as Kirk rises in authority, so, too must Cupcake relent and accept his role -- but he doesn't sacrifice his skepticism.

Without Cupcake, the whole meta-statement collapses!

In all seriousness, though, I think this will be my last post in this little group of threads for a few weeks. It's just too tempting to click on some of the links promising spoilers and I know I'll learn something I'd rather see on the big screen in May. I hope you all miss me as much as I'll miss you!

Heck, you could argue that if Cupcake hadn't gotten into it with Kirk in the bar, Kirk wouldn't be the man he is today. In a way, he is the Joker (Jack Nicholson version) to Kirk's Batman.

Cupcake is supposed to be one of those red shirt dudes killed in The Apple. He's so canon!

Quinto does a great Spock, except for his voice. Every time he opens his mouth my suspension of disbelief hits some turbulence, but it's a minor thing.

I totally noticed that, too. TIE fighters have a distinct sound!

I watched the trailer three times. Once for the sounds, once for the action and the third time for cupcake.

I CAN'T wait to see this film. :)

That scene is going to be lots of fun on a theatre-size screen. Even more so in 3D, I'd imagine.

You were totally dithering. I could tell.

Love the look of the new BOP. More of an more industrial aesthetic. Oh, and it's not green. :techman:

The Klingon ship sort of sounds like a Jedi Starfighter from Revenge of the Sith. The ship the crew is in reminds me of the flying sub.

The scene feels like Empire Strikes Back. I was waiting for Kirk to tell Spock "never tell me the odds"
