The STAR TREK future, either in the new movie, or the old Roddenberry-Berman universe, is kind of sketchy on details as to what happened to Earth between our time and TREK's time.

Oh..something happened. Q's trial points that out, and Sisko's travel to that crappy city didn't look to great either...

So, what do you think happened to YOUR neck of the world, be it London or heck, San Diego?

I think San Diego, my city, eventually became a home for all the comic-book/scifi geeks out there. The big war happened during comicon, stranding thousands of scifi nerds in near San Diego State, a haven for sexy babes. These nerds and babes hooked up and, well....I don't about the rest of the world, but I liked it!!!

Yes, I'm sure that's exactly what happened...

Ever seen Babylon 5? Things didn't turn out so great for San Diego.

Not a single time Italy was ever mentioned in Star Trek as contemporary of the series. For all we know, it could be completely reduced to a nuclear wasteland.

However, I think Italy will do what we did in the last 3,000 years: stir the pot, make a noise, kick some ass, get our ass kicked multiple times and then coming out again smelling like roses and with everybody commenting on our lovely food and fashionable style. Rinse, repeat.

I'd like to think that my home town, and the whole area where my town sits still exists in a recognisable form but obviously with a few 24th century amendments.

It's be interesting to know that in the 24th century version of my home town I could go the same street I lived in and see that it still looks similar but with different style houses. Saying that, the town only has a population of nearly 4,000 so, given population increase, the town may be a bit larger by the 24th century.

I don't know about in the 23rd or 24th centuries, but in the 22nd century, Pensacola's still around (Trip's "Natalie from Pensacola", remember?).

Yeah but Florida got kinda carved in half by the Xindi, as did Venezuela.

    I hope London still exists.

Actually, the Xindi were trying to make Pierce Anthony's Xanth a reality by carving Florida.

Their major error was mixing up the X and Y coordinates for their cutting beam. Maybe too many "X"'s for the reptilian Xindi to figure out?

We are the Londo Mollari of the world stage. Has-been, may-be, always decadent, never decayed. An old people with a young heart. Good, bad: who cares? Give me another glass of your finest wine.

Chief O'Brien comes from Dublin, which in the 24th century is a much cleaner and greatly refurbished city. The suburbs stretch out into the surrounding counties.

Well, I'm currently living half the year in Cambridge, and we saw in "All Good Things..." that it's still standing, so I'm hopeful for the rest of the UK too. :)
